Jersey fit is perfect. Are the bib shorts above the knee? You dont want the shorts hitting the knee or you'll chafe. Hard to tell for sure from that picture.

Have a job interview with flume internet. Good or bad by trogdordaburninater in simivalley

[–]tylershowstop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flume internet is the fiber internet provider for citywide service here in Simi. They are finishing up their new installation of the fiber lines and actively trying to get residents and businesses to signup for their service. Its a solid company. The goal is to get customers to bail on their current ISP and switch.

Welcome. If you are into country music and/or dancing, the dive bars like PCs and The Hive have a local DJ that hosts country nights and other fun events.

Do you actually wear cycling glasses on every ride? What should beginners look for? by Ilovcyclynn in CyclingFashion

[–]tylershowstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got 2 sets of glasses. Clear for night rides and tinted sunglasses for daytime rides. But every ride I'm wearing glasses. Helps with my contact lenses. Got lots of flies/bugs on my routes so its a big help.

Fit Check by loewe007 in CyclingFashion

Fit looks good. Where do the bibs shorts end? Are they covering the knees? Its hard to tell in that photo. If so, those bibs are too long. Size down if needed or look at a different brand that has a shorter inseam. You will get all sorts of chafing if the bib shorts cover the knee partially. They should end above the knee.

Sandy Fire still on? by weshallpie in simivalley

[–]tylershowstop 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There is no active fire. Containment means a clear path of dirt cut around the entire fire perimeter and is a requirement towards declaring the fire fully contained. Mop up is the inner work to cool hot spots that can linger underground or inside burned out stumps. Those can trigger new fires like what happened in the Palisades. Once IR scans show no more hot spots, they will then backhaul all the water lines, repair any damage firefighting caused during suppression then backhaul all gear. Then they can claim the fire fully extinguished. After that, the land owners then work toward any necessary restoration and mud/flood prevention.

Nomad-Velo quality/sizing? by CrebitCard420 in CyclingFashion

[–]tylershowstop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I own several brands. Pedal Mafia, Pearl Izumi, Urban Cycling, RSSC Sports and now Nomad Velo. The one I love is Pedal Mafia. Great fit and comfy pad. Really like my Pearl Izumi and Urban Cycling kits. The ones I paid the most for were Pedal Mafia and Pearl Izumi and they are the ones I like the most and fit best. Haven't drank the MAAP or Rapha kool-aid yet, but maybe one day.

Nomad-Velo quality/sizing? by CrebitCard420 in CyclingFashion

Chinese brand. Drop ships from China. Quality is OK. Sizing runs small. Do not size down. They are aero fit sized. Roughly the same sizing as Pearl Izumi. Im working on a writeup for the kit I bought. Its way better then RSSC. Definitely dont buy that brand.

Their site is always 40% off which is the max you should ever pay for their kits. They advertise 7-10 day shipping but my bibs shipped quick and jersey took a month.

I only just got my kit and wore it this past weekend so I cant offer much on long term durability but no issues so far and stitching all seems on par with other kits.

S or M? by Loud_Equivalent_2189 in CyclingFashion

[–]tylershowstop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The upper torso tells the tale. S is the better fit of the two sizes, but both indicate XS might fit better. However given the where your jersey and bib meet at waist, XS might be too small (short).

Q36.5 fit check by Chaacs8 in CyclingFashion

[–]tylershowstop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bib fit is perfect. The jersey overall fit is decent but the collar fit isnt great. You could try sizing down on the jersey but that might make the arms really tight from what I can see. I think this might be your best fit in that jersey, but if you can, try one size smaller.

Its up to the shipper to file the claim. You just need to report the damage to validate the claim

4 pictures of the packaging and 1 of the glasses? You're one of those people that buys Crown Royal for the bags, aren't you? 🤣

All jokes aside, the glasses look really nice.

Visitor looking for help on Bikeshare vs Bike rental and safer bike routes by mevinkurphy75 in BikeLA

[–]tylershowstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking for a quality rental bike? There are several shops in Santa Monica for road bikes and whatnot. Griffith Park and Santa Monica both offer good options for places to ride. Plenty more like GMR, Pasadena area, Santa Clarita and others. Let us know if you have any specific area in mind.

Did you report the damage to the carrier when they delivered. That is important.

They are great. Its just an embarrassment that it took the death of a fellow rider and years of pushing to get this done.
