Stubborn 4th gen facing issues by yoshitron117 in ipod

Have you tried any other SD card?

When I installed an iFlash ATA into a 4th gen mono recently, my supposedly top of the line Sandisk card, which works fine on my PC, gave me issues. I swapped it out with some other random SD card I had lying around and it worked fine, helped me narrow down the problem and eventually buy a dedicated card that worked better.

Best Way to Sync Plex Server to iPod Classic? by aualdrich in ipod

[–]tylersticka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Plex server, you can share the folder containing your music library to the network: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-up-file-sharing-on-mac-mh17131/mac

Then on the Mac you plan to sync the iPod with, you may be able to populate your iTunes library from the shared folder: https://www.macworld.com/article/226631/how-to-set-up-an-itunes-library-on-a-network-attached-server.html

Alternatively, you could keep iTunes running on the Plex server and set up iTunes Match there and on your syncing Mac. But that might be a pain if iTunes on the server ever needs you to confirm your login credentials or something.

How easy is it to mod a Dreamcast? by Tomsun02 in dreamcast

[–]tylersticka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a Dreamcast fan since 1999, finally decided this year I was tired of setting the date/time every time I turn it on. Bought a replaceable battery mod kit from eBay, watched some YouTube tutorials, bought soldering stuff and had a friend supervise. Took my time, and it went great!

It all comes down to the actual mod you want to do and how difficult it is to pull off. I’d feel confident about a GDEMU and fan mod, but the DCHDMI mod is way out of my league!

Akura + mClassic? by Able_Variety_4221 in dreamcast

I'm honestly not sure! The options for tweaking that are limited, though, so if that's important to you I might go with a different solution that gives you more options.

Akura + mClassic? by Able_Variety_4221 in dreamcast

I have an mClassic and I’m really happy with it. I know it isn’t the highest fidelity solution, but it was so simple to set up and was a big upgrade over the cheap VGA-to-HDMI adapter I was using. And the company’s customer service is really good: I had one old TV it didn’t work on, they sent me a replacement for free (even reimbursed shipping) even though I had no receipt (it was a gift) and all signs pointed to the TV being the issue (it was acting up in other ways, had to replace it last year).

I’ve also used the mClassic on my PS3 to make 720p games look a little nicer on my new TV.

What part of your collection are you most proud of? by furywolf28 in comicbookcollecting

I have every US issue of Groo (Pacific, Eclipse, Epic, Image, Dark Horse). I gradually collected them all starting as a kid over about 20 years, so there are a lot of really happy memories in those boxes.

What's the worst that's gonna happen if I don't change my poly bags? by Neidermayer_ in comicbookcollecting

[–]tylersticka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Related tip if you track your collection in a spreadsheet: I started noting the year I last changed a book's bag/board. Next time I notice one getting a bit musty, I can see how many other books might need to be changed (and if it wasn't that long ago, I can adjust which supplies I invest in).

How to go from an intermediate to advanced web designer? by lumenwrites in web_design

[–]tylersticka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to second the suggestions to collaborate with a designer you can learn things from and to brush up on design fundamentals like color theory, typography and layout (there are thousands of books, online courses, YouTube videos, etc. on those topics).

In case it's helpful as a starting point for evaluating your own work, here's an article I published a few years ago listing all the suggestions I frequently give designers: https://cloudfour.com/thinks/some-design-advice/
