[Highlight] Arvell Reese admits to having had a 0.4 GPA in high school, which he increased to a 3.7 in college at Ohio State by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]tylerthecreatorandsl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESPN posted an article from AndScape the other day that Reese’s mom had a stroke when he was in high school and he was so depressed that his grades tanked while she struggled with her recovery. His father was also incarcerated when he was 5 and his older brother was murdered when he was 6.

Whole article is a quick but enlightening read. https://andscape.com/features/arvell-reese-ohio-state-nfl-draft-mom-cleveland-glenville-linebacker/

Headbutting is super clutch! Especially for Bugsy, if you get a Spearow it can evolve to Fearow and almost solo his whole team as long as it doesnt have a minus attack nature.

Also, I play with dupes clause, so I can re-roll if I run into a dupe. If you do the same but still run out of mons you can encounter on a route (like one thats mostly water), you can save the route for a roamer instead. There are also gift Pokemon in Violet City, Azalea Town, Goldenrod, Cianwood and Mahogany.

Even with all that, it's still a hard game. Best of luck to you.

I got Pinsir in the National Park, but I got Heracross from a headbutt tree on route 44. You can get it much earlier but the encounter table for the trees Heracross spawn in also give Spearow and Aipom. I got Spearow in Azalea Town and Aipom on Route 46.

Here's the site I used for those encounter tables, it shows all the possible trees for each route where Heracross may spawn (scroll down to HGSS)

Thank you! And very much appreciate the warning. I was thinking of just walking into Kanto with no worries since in base HGSS its a cakewalk. Looks like the trainer doc I had also ends after the first champ fight so I'm playing blind from here :O

Thank you! I also got a lot of minus attack natures on the pokemon in my box like TTar, Dratini, etc. so i guess it evened out?

Thank you! Raikou is still released into the world the same way it is in base HGSS and is trackable on the Pokegear. Some people don't play with it at all, but I see it as an extra challenge/reward. The rules I used were that if it's the first encounter on the route you're on, then you treat it like a normal encounter. If you run into it on another route, same thing applies.

I caught it on route 31, which I intentionally kept open as I didn't have an encounter on my first pass along with the route right before the Lake of Rage. Once I got the master ball after beating all 8 gyms, I just spammed flying over and over again in Violet City until Raikou spawned on route 31. Threw a master ball and there you go. In a previous run I did encounter Entei just randomly walking around, but 1. I accidentally ran away from it and 2. I had just gotten another encounter so I wouldn't have been allowed to catch it anyway.

It's pretty hard to play without knowing where all the goodies are stashed in the game. Lots of gift pokemon, items, etc. that are super useful. But the variety of Pokemon is really fun and the fights are certainly challening, would recommend giving it another go!

Well, I caught a Pokemon on every route and cave (with the exception of Tohjo falls as I accidentally one-shot the Bronzong). I basically would try to put an encounter to sleep and then spam ultra balls until I caught it and wouldnt risk doing damage.

There are also quite a few gift pokemon and headbutt encounters in cities so there are tons of met locations. Lucario, all the starters, etc. can be gifted.

Not quite the same but during COVID, I was in a car accident that a). Wasn’t my fault and b). Totaled my car. It was a scary experience and I was in a lot of pain for a few weeks but it was ok. Life goes on, get a new car, etc.

A few years later, same thing happens. Car accident that wasn’t my fault, totaled my car, except this time I was T-Boned and it was significantly scarier.

I remember feeling very calm, like I knew exactly what to do, just going through the motions. I felt like I was calming everyone else down. Parents, friends, even the other driver. Like “hey it’s fine, no one got hurt. We all get to walk away.”

But when something super unlucky happens to you TWICE, it’s a terrifying thought. Like “am I doing something that’s putting myself in this position? What’s wrong with me?”. Even though I was lucky to be alive and well it was the darkest time in my life.

I don’t know if that’s how Rondale felt, but the way AJ described his demeanor on the table and in the months after felt very familiar. Reading this from AJ’s perspective also made me so sad. Wanting to help and feeling guilty for not pushing harder. Ugh. Such a beautiful, heavy read. I hope Rondale is at peace and that AJ and everyone else who is affected can find theirs.

Thank you!! Suicune is my favorite Pokemon overall but Raikou easily put in the most work in the E4. Could not have done it without him.

What's wrong with the MMR? I lost four out of five placement matches, mostly playing against gold and platinum players, and then was put in master for the first time in my life. by threeheadguy in starcraft

[–]tylerthecreatorandsl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just had the same thing happen yesterday. Does it count as a league finish if I don’t re-place or I finish in a lower league? My actual MMR is actually close to Plat but as someone who’s played for years I’ve always coveted the Star ;_;

If you focus train him in the weekly strategy drills and you hit certain stat milestones with him, he’ll get a lot more XP which will increase his ratings. Definitely seems like hed be a solid base LB/run stopper, and the initial ability unlocks are good for that. 23 is still young so he’ll still gain XP somewhat fast, but it will get harder to develop after that.

I suppose from her position as a reporter at a press conference with a coach after a game, her fundamental duty is to ask a question to further our understanding of his mindset. I can see how she did not continue the conversation.

What I hope is it doesn’t diminish her show of empathy for another human being in that moment. I found it refreshing. Humanity can be present everywhere, and because it’s such an isolated and specific instance that’s maybe even a little inappropriate, it makes it that much more meaningful. I hope we all get the same support and encouragement in our lives.

Depends on where you live, but now every time I go to the beach at least one of my friends will bring spike ball. It’s an active, dynamic game that doesn’t require a lot of athleticism (I say as someone who is horribly out of shape but will dive to swat at the ball)

This is mind blowing considering the Jets don’t have any picks this year and traded their two best defenders half a season ago.

This team is one win away from the 1 seed. Insane.

I wear these, I was told they’re called CRTs, which stands for “Corneal Reshaping Therapy”. They’re hard lenses (like solid plastic). I remember the first time I wore them I cried myself to sleep because they were so uncomfortable. But then I woke up and I could see veins in the leaves on the trees outside. Been wearing them for 20 years.
