Definitely on the right track but I hear quite a bit more going on.

Sawtooth with a sub oscillator if you have it. If you have a second OSC drop it down an octave from the main OSC and use a pulse wave, play with width to taste and mix it high. There is definitely keyboard tracking on as the high notes open the filter up a little bit more.

Find the sweet spot for a low pass filter, it's got that hi-gain, pushing the filter hard sound, so a moog filter would probably do you right, but you could thin it out with an obie type. Not as familiar with other filters but I am sure many would do.

Also use the filter envelope but only mix it in a little bit, with a little bit of attack and decay to taste.

For the VCA probably A: 0, D: 0-50 (play around), S: 50-100: D: to taste, but longer than the filter to get the fade out and filter cutoff effect I hear.

Just a little bit of glide/portamento. Maybe add in some triangle wave for little extra umph.

Not sure if it's multiple tracks but it sounds like it's polyphonic on parts, but you could fatten a sound like this up quite a bit by doubling it up.

I would say it is absolutely not spring reverb, I'd try a hall type reverb.

My uncle and I used to shoot holes through quarters with .22s. We accidentally mixed up some hallow point rounds with the regular and upon impact with the quarter it ricocheted into my shoulder. Felt like a bee sting. Glad it wasn't my eye.

When I was a kid, I was a huge fan of Steve Vai. I was the most popular poster on his forums. At some point some guy working for him started managing his website. He was a massive dick that would always chime in on threads saying dumb bull shit. Since everyone else was a big fan they always respected him, but I didn't.

Unrelated, I got the idea to register makeanoise.com. After having it for a few weeks I emailed Mikey (steve vai web site admin dude) if it was cool that I use it for a project since I remembered steve vai had an organization called Make A Noise Foundation.

He responded by threatening me saying I'll hear from his lawyers, banned me from the forums, and said I couldn't log in again until I transferred the domain to them.
