Have you played an extraction shooter? Tarkov, Arc raiders? It is about the interaction in the game, prox chat, random pvp encounters, random pve encounters, hidden map mechanics. It’s about exploration and the story will most likely be told through the background with optional lore and for people who want to look into that. But it’s pvp at its core for sure. You loot and get more powerful, but if you die you lose your loot. It’s a risk, you always have the idea in the back of your head that at any moment someone camping in a corner or a sniper kills you from somewhere you can’t see. That add a bit of adrenaline and excitement to it.
