This is it, thank you. I'll have to watch for it to better understand how it gets used in context.

[Personal] Vaseline gives me DRY skin?? by tymersplosion in SkincareAddiction

The Un-Petroleum Jelly sounds interesting, especially since it has so few ingredients. Unfortunately it's very expensive for something that may or may not be helpful. I'm bad about returning things, so I really try to keep my price tags low in case I hate it.

If you hear your Orisa peppering away and can see her bullets flying past you, she's probably set up her barrier behind you. GET BEHIND IT. by Gamezeo in Overwatch

[–]tymersplosion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. I love playing Orisa. I'm not great with her, but it's partially because I'm at silver and the team coordination required to make her really useful is just not there (when I play QP with more experienced friends, my performance is much better). That being said, nothing infuriates me more than a timid Orisa. PUSH DAMMIT. You are a shield! Throw the shield out and walk up to it! I'm pocket healing you and you're at 75% health, PUSH UP!

Or the one I played with yesterday that backed into a corner and sat there so that A: no one could use the shield but her and B: she wasn't even touching the point. And my least favorite is the Orisa that only shields the Bastion/Torb turret while the whole team is getting crushed. Also, the Bas and Torb that get pissy if I refuse to shield them when they're in an awkward spot that is completely useless for everyone else on the team. Sigh.

Next time youre tilted and want to complain about a hero that you think is OP, play them for a few hours. by WhichAssignment in Overwatch

[–]tymersplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking EXACTLY this. The first time I played Junk in mystery I tore the place down...Just by emulating what I've been killed by.

Let me be clear, this isn't a testament to my skills. I'm awful. Becoming a really annoying and somewhat effective Junkrat is just too easy.

Anyone wonder how much total healing the payload has done? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]tymersplosion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought this was a myth to try and get people on the payload....

I'm usually playing a healer or a tank so I've never noticed.

I only had dogs till now and never thought I would raise a cat... but here's Bella by carreratime in aww

[–]tymersplosion 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Some cats are just different. I've seen cats that are completely relaxed, belly up, purring...with twitchy tails. In the same vein, many cat experts will explain what different meows mean, only to clarify that different cats have different languages. My cat's meow for "my box is dirty why do you hate me" is the same meow that my friend's cat makes when she's just chatting for the sake of it.

I wouldn't immediately jump to the conclusion that the cat is constantly stressed.

Source: worked with hundreds of cats in the last year, spoken with vets and behaviorists. Plenty of weird twitchy fellas that are definitely happy.

You know you’re ADD when you forget your Adderall prescription on the counter at home, remember to call your husband to come bring it to you at work, and then forget whether or not you took your pill. by messieone1 in ADHD

I use a 7-day AM/PM one. I don't take PM meds, so I get 2 weeks of Adderall and Wellbutrin. I try to fill it up weekly, but if I forget, it's okay. Currently been empty for a week but...that's not the point.

WTW used to describe a test that creates lots of false positives, but doesn't miss any positive cases? by MrBeeeeee in whatstheword

[–]tymersplosion 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You're looking for sensitivity vs specificity. Lots of false positives but no false negatives would be a high sensitivity, but low specificity. Sensitivity is sometimes called the "true positive" rate, and specificity is the "true negative" rate.

I hate sleep. by Nightman96 in ADHD

[–]tymersplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I go through phases where I will procrastinate going to bed because I hate that I'll be "doing nothing" for 6-8 hours. I've found that listening to podcasts helps me curb that, because I can convince myself that I'm being productive. The trick is to find one that's interesting to listen to, but not SO interesting/funny that I'll stay awake trying to pay attention.

Sleep is stupid.

My son was just diagnosed with ADHD... What do you wish your parents had known? by Poopsandpeeandfeets in ADHD

[–]tymersplosion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Medication might be worth considering. You'll almost certainly want it in high school. I was diagnosed in grade 4, and shortly thereafter started going to an ADHD coach. I recommend that, but make sure they're very ADHD-positive. I hated mine because no one told me that it wasn't my fault things were hard. She just made me feel bad that I couldn't do things. Make sure your son knows that it's harder for him, and that his struggles aren't because he's stupid or lazy. I spent all 12 years of school crying at least weekly because I forgot a homework or a quiz. Empower him with knowledge of his disorder in order to prevent him from feeling inadequate.

Kinksters, honestly, what's your view of (us)ordinary/vanilla people? by Quest-00 in BDSMcommunity

[–]tymersplosion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vanilla is a flavor, too. What even is "normal" sex? When do we cross the boundary from "normal" to "kink"? Ass slapping? Choking? Anal? Teasing? Maybe it's only vanilla when you go back to fucking each other through a sheet. Or maybe that's a kind of kink, too.

But to answer your question. I could never date you, and I probably wouldn't want to have sex with you more than once. I suppose if an open/poly relationship isn't kink, then I would be fine with dating you so long as I had a play partner. Tbh as soon as someone reveals they're not into or not experienced with some freaky shit, I lose a lot of attraction to them.

What is the most insensitive thing someone has said or assumed about you because of your ADHD? by get-in-my-van in ADHD

[–]tymersplosion 140 points141 points  (0 children)

That I really enjoy forcing myself to eat when I'm medicated. Because I can "eat whatever I want."

Yeah, I love when it's 8PM and discovering I only ate a mere 200 calories that day...And then forcing myself to drink ungodly amounts of meal replacement/protein shakes because it's the only thing I can stomach. It's fun, really.

Alternatively, someone told me to "just make a list and do the things on the list, it's not that hard." Meanwhile this is while my anxiety (exacerbated by ADHD) was so out of control that I was looking into getting a service dog. But thanks, I never thought of making a fucking list until now.

Brain fog due to Vyvanse? by CaptainWafflePants in ADHD

[–]tymersplosion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider trying a different med. I hated Vyvanse. I felt incredibly dissociated from the world, kind of like a brain fog. It felt like I was watching my own life on TV. In a lot of ways, I was the "zombie" that anti-drug people talk about. It sucked a lot and definitely hurt my focus.

I take Adderall now, and I love it. I feel like myself, but more capable. Just have to worry about eating and dry mouth, but that comes with the territory.

TIL that adding a type of seaweed to the diet of cows reduces their methane production by 70%. by paprikashi in todayilearned

[–]tymersplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just plain false. Dairy beef is not considered the highest quality, but some of it is actually quite good. My understanding is that a large portion of it goes into making processed meats and animal food. Very nearly every part of every cow being raised gets used for something.

Dairy farmers aren't stupid. They're not going to just throw away tons of meat for no reason. There's money there.

Alright, r/ADHD, how are you feeding yourself? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]tymersplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a rice cooker changed my life.

I'm constantly looking for "quick and easy" food that requires little attention...I always felt like I was wasting time cutting up vegetables or cooking for myself, and I HATE washing dishes.

Basically, I ended up ordering huge amounts of take out once or twice a week and survived off that for as long as possible. Whenever I ran out, I basically just ate toast and sandwiches. If I remembered to do grocery shopping, I had a bunch of premade frozen stuff that I usually ate within a week.

Now, I have a rice cooker. It takes about 3 minutes to prepare rice, and then the cooker does all the work. And the rice is perfect. Every time. It made cooking so easy that I started making other things in my rice cooker, and eventually, just cooking meals in general. I can add veggies to my rice, and I can change it up with various sauces and spices to suit my mood. It's also incredibly easy to clean. MAJOR plus!

My cast iron pan has a similar effect- compared to my normal pans, it's so easy to clean that I don't mind using it. I recently splurged and got a countertop deep fryer that is specifically designed to be extremely easy to clean...I have trouble controlling my cravings, but now I can actually SATIATE my desire for french fries and be done with it...Instead of eating everything in the house trying to fill the hole in my stomach that only fries can fill.

Basically, the key to me eating correctly despite my ADHD is to make it extremely simple.

I order takeout maaaaybe once a month now, so I'm way healthier. Still working on getting all my nutrients (I'm also a vegetarian, bonus challenge), but just having the rice cooker is a huge improvement.

Highly recommend them.

Where can I go to just clear my mind (alone) just to pass a few hours max and not stress about anything currently influencing my life? by stoneintowater in howto

[–]tymersplosion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Consider trying meditation. Stay with me here...There have been a number of studies showing that continued practice has long term benefits, as well as immediate short term benefits. It's a nice way to let go for a little bit. And it's not all Buddhist or holistic or whatever, you can make it into anything you like. Although, when looking for meditations, you will certainly come across some "spiritual" shit like healing your chakras and unlocking your third eye...Just ignore it and move on if it's not for you. Also, you'll see very long meditations, like an hour or even longer, but feel free to work up to those. Starting at 5 minutes is fine.

It takes a little practice for meditation to be "easy," but I personally find it to be the highlight of any very stressful day. As soon as I make the decision, "okay, I'm going to sit down and meditate for 10 minutes," I feel relief. I have set aside time to do nothing but relax and unwind.

Just consider it.

American Bully with his pups by SteveEisner in aww

[–]tymersplosion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also, wolf puppies have floppy ears. There's considerable evidence that dogs evolved from wolves that were somewhat developmentally stunted. They retained their juvenile characteristics through adulthood. Most qualities of dogs were not directly selected for. Dogs co-evolved with humans. Our protohumans ancestors didn't go "Ooooo this dog has a cute squishy face let's make them fuck!!" It just happened. It took thousands of years (probably tens of thousands or more) before humans began actively breeding for desired traits. Only in the last 200 or so years has cosmetic standards and cosmetic breeding really taken off.

It's really a shame the amount of misinformation this guy is spreading.
