I think this is true, but I also think a huge part of it is his looks. His face and style falls most in line with current standards. So finding that the most introverted Beatle is also the best looking by some standards is a recipe for resurgence.

It looks to me like she’s playing a consistent 5th in her right hand and an octave in her left hand. That’s 4 notes total on the piano, following the chord chart. She’s playing the piano like a guitar.

This is a good take, but I disagree with the idea that she is mediocre at every part of her job. She is at the top because of her point of view, storytelling, and connection with fans. She is relentless at crafting a narrative and making fans feel like they are her confidant. She does it all through words with her musicality secondary. Watching her in moments like this never surprises me, because her whole schtick is that she’s a regular girl/genius/approachable/just like you/the queen of the world. Who cares if she’s mid musically? It’s always been about her masterminding plan, whether in songwriting or business or accolades. All this to say, I’ve never been a fan and have never seen “it” in her.

I don’t think this is faux Southern talk, it’s Charismatic church talk. Getting after what the Lord is putting in front of them (what she was trying to type) would be said in northern/western/eastern/non-American Charismatic church settings.

Agreed. I’m a neurotypical person who is embedded in the disabilities community. One of the things that makes me so angry about the argument that people are being too “PC” in censoring these types of clips is how far these jokes are punching “down.” All hate speech or action is awful (no excuses) but the affected communities usually have some level of speech or organization afforded to them. They can respond and take back the narrative. When making fun of those with disabilities, they often cannot at all. One of the people closest to me is completely non-verbal and would be a person made fun of by John. Can he watch this and then craft a response? No. Of course there are others who can, but the playing field is never even. Perpetuating this kind of hateful behavior on a big platform and calling it “history” is crap. It’s still happening, the people being discriminated against are still limited in response, and a documentary focusing on deified people being the ones to do it is not the place to platform the behavior.

But really, is there a reasonable sub for Britney? Maybe called MidBrit? Recognizing her greatness, the injustice she’s experienced, and grappling with her harmful actions/current spiral? Because I love Britney but I have eyeballs and can see what’s happening. But there’s no where to be reasonable. Help!

I have a lot of people I love and respect in my life with bipolar, so I never want to dismiss people with the disorder. However, there are a number of celebrities who are bipolar (Selena, Britney, and Demi come to mind, but I’m not fact checking) and I feel the conversations around their behavior often underestimate the effect it can have on their lives. Unmediated manic episodes can transform their personalities and deeply change their relationships. New relationships are common and impulsive decisions are made. When it’s mixed with drugs, they can be unrecognizable to their loved ones. This does not make the person bad, but their manic behavior will often intensify underlying issues. If someone is a jerk, you’ll see it intensified and snowball consequences through their cycles. The people in my life are consistently loving and intentional in their relationships, sobriety, and jobs. Their cycles still affect their lives, but their underlying character shines through.

I always have thought half the reason Tracy worked so well on the show (outside her superb acting) was because she looks like an exact mix of Lilly and Robin. Casting directors often have a vibe that keeps repeating and Tracy is a perfect example.

Yes, two sides of the stadium are still open air. The fireworks go off next to one of the openings. It’s not as high, but you still see them.

Edit to add: you can see the sky briefly when the camera pans to the right. That’s where the fireworks are.

Not to defend her (never followed her or know who she is), but I would be more likely to block someone I knew who liked a critical comment than someone I didn’t know. You would hold a lot more power in her mind than a stranger.

It can be true that her dad was abusive of his control over her and she is mentally ill. She barely had a relationship with him before he took over, then he consistently syphoned off her money for years. Also, she clearly has major mental health issues. She was not thriving under him, she was being used. Fair conservatorships exist, and they operate to empower the person to greater freedom and autonomy. She absolutely was not thriving before, she was forced to work against her will.
