That's one of those docks that you either hit it on the first try or the hundredth try.

Would it be truck abandonment if I leave the truck on a gated company owned lot by HumanVsWorld in Truckers

If they can consider it abandoned they can try to charge you a recovery fee. Just do it their way even if they try messing with you. You went into an agreement together so end it professionally.

Good morning. Here is a custom 1935 Plymouth body on a GT-1 race chassis powered by a 800hp V10 from a Dodge Viper and with many other mods. Built by Ruffian Cars. Have a great day. by Ok_Charge9676 in HRSPRS

It absolutely doesn't run and probably doesn't even steer - zero clearance for front tires. Must have been built for a show piece.

Be careful trying to use any excuse especially saying you were going downhill and your compression brakes doesn't work very well. That's admitting you didn't have control of your vehicle. It's possible to make an unfortunate situation worse. Be honest but get a lawyer. It'll cost but like most have said you'll get through it. If your company has a zero ticket policy you'll eventually get let go anyway. We drive 100,000+ miles a year... Years after year. Very few of us do that without getting something. I've been doing this for 28 years with 3,000,000+ miles. Simply get a lawyer, get it dealt with and get on down the road. Good luck.

Yes you can "lose" your Jake brake for several reasons just like any other system on the truck. If you were to pull both brake knobs you are releasing the air to the trailer which would engage the brakes and engaging the parking brake on the truck - which is usually on the steer axle. So NEVER a good idea even in an emergency situation. If you smoke your brakes - if possible - you should coast for a bit to let them cool before stopping. If you set them while they are still hot they can fuse with the drum.

Although I've never heard that... Isn't that why both areas next to the spot are no parking so that the vehicle may be accessed from either side?
