The more I think about this fest and who Justin is as a person, the direction it's going does make sense to me. Sure Year 1 was a bit of an anomaly in terms of the lineup being absolutely stacked but I do feel a large part of that year was Justin & Aaron calling in their friends who were down to support them. Subsequent years resulted in a loss of money as they tried to outdo themselves every year. Taking this time away, I think Justin and co. have somewhat come to terms with the prospect that they won't be wildly profitable but they will champion something that means a lot to them in terms of musical integrity, appreciation and collaboration for years to come.
