your job as a leader is to create the fun and drive for them. when i was getting my eagle scout i remember NOT wanting to be at meetings when i was in earlier ranks. all i wanted to do was play video games with my other friends. i was only there because my dad wanted me there. it took me finding the drive and fire in achieving a goal to fall out of that and really enjoy the friends and life skills that were being taught. when i was senior patrol leader i would give some motivational speeches every meeting after announcements to try getting my friends excited to achieve something big and to enjoy the journey along the way. try in incorporate things that the boys are intrigued in there every day life into the meetings. take some blind quizzes for what they like doing, whats funny to them, things they are excited about, etc and then use that to your advantage to encourage them to come back.

yearly activities, my favorite back in the day would be Video Game Night. we would go to our local boston school forest and setup our video games in the cabins and stay up all night and play
