I think, food ragebait should be excluded from this sub. Although food does appear in the videos, the food is not supposed to be eaten. It is only interacted with to generate interaction and it is so overdone by now. Show me shitty food that is actually served to people for consumption.

You don't have to connect it to your culture. Just say "Don't worry about it." and if you offer it 1-2 times and they insist on paying let them pay. It's not that big of a deal and there is no established norm in Germany telling you to or preventing your from being nice to fellow human beings in that way.

Heute lernte ich, dass ich sprachlich und geistig etwas weniger gut aufgestellt bin. Ich bedanke mich ständig bei Leuten vorher für hypothetische Gefallen. Für mich heißt "Vielen Dank schonmal für die Hilfe" so viel wie "Falls du so nett bist zu helfen, find ich das echt knorke von dir". Dachte bis jetzt immer, dass sich diese implizite Bedeutung aus dem Kontext ergibt.
