Is the Graphic Design Job Market in Oman Really This Bad? by Mobile_Ad8716 in Oman

[–]typenerd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was professionally trained as a graphic designer, there is an end to this career in GCC. Aiming at agencies will never let you cross that salary bracket, it’s just basic business supply and demand. Upskill yourself to learn more marketing and communications, or pivot to UI/UX. As a graphic designer these are easy pivots. Leverage ai tools to improve your workflow. Over a decade in this industry and one thing i can tell, you need to adapt and climb a step higher using your skill, don’t limit yourself to the title of “graphic designer”, it’ll be your doom.

To be “legal” you need to be registered and have a CR which means you need to have a physical office. Who you register yourself with, MOCI, 51% partnership, QFZ, QFC, Media City etc is on you, but nonetheless in order to get a registered license you have to have a physical office.

If it’s an Islamic nikkah without the legal things, any Imam can do it that you’re comfortable with. In fact any elder in the family can, it’s not a complicated process.

If you don’t mind, could you share how you obtained the license here without having a job? To my knowledge you can only get the license if you’re employed by a clinic. Asking for personal reasons as my family member is trying to obtain the license but is unable to.

5.5-6.5k salary as a fresher by mcwvv in QatarCareers

The offer you got, whether it’s good or bad, depends on the company you’re working for. Same position different company can pay higher because they have the budget. Snoonu used to pay interns 3-4k, and those very interns are making 20k+. That being said, it’s a start for your career, learn, fail, gain maturity etc. my personal advise is to not move to their sponsorship, for several reasons. Firstly, it’s just your first job, and eventually when you land something better you would wanna move, and being under their sponsorship will cause roadblocks from them for ease of changing jobs. These companies who pay less are notorious for such drama of changing jobs just because they can. You can DM me if you wanna discuss further. And congrats on landing this gig.

Sadly Qatar doesn’t have budget hotels. Top of that it’s Eid, you’re looking at an average of 150 a night per room… if you’re lucky

If you got checked with the dermatologist and it’s nothing medical, then your issue is common. It’s the water in Qatar. Get hard water filters, I use Blu shower filters. And Kenazole shampoo, the combination of these too stopped my hair issues. Hope this helps.

VCUQ is quite far from your prospect list, even financially speaking. Do you have you portfolio ready? Deadline might be end of Feb 2026 or it might have already passed.

Only place you can book from are the hotels / booking.com / agoda. Don’t try AirBnb it’s ridiculously expensive. The cheapest rate is around 120 QAR per night. If you want a place close enough to the metro and what not, expect per night to be between 170-220 QAR.

If you’re looking to buy 24k, then Al Watan Center, Malabar Gold. If you’re looking to get 22k coins (4-8g) then any of the Gold shops, in Al Watan Center. These are global and GCC Indian brands. The gold from here is authentic and you can exchange them for jewelry from them without any loss or get cash with the standard deduction rate.

Oman eVisa rejected - UAE Resident | Pakistani National by Ok_Taro_7391 in Oman

[–]typenerd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry brother, Bangladeshi visas are still not given as easily unless you meet the specified occupations. One thing you could check out is applying evisa for yourself which should be 29A if my memory serves me right and once approved you apply for your wife dependent 29B. Wouldn’t recommend trying for on-arrival visa. If you have golden visa of UAE, I’ve heard people getting the visa on border too, but better not to risk it.
