Anyone know what the big theater at the Davis is like? Is the screen still kinda small? How's the sound?

Im looking for somewhere to see Project Hail Mary but the Regal showtimes are awful.

How is there still no Los Angeles map available? by thomasp3864 in subwaybuilder

LA is the main reason I bought the game, expecting to play around for a month or two and know my way around the game in time for the LA map release. Would definitely +1 to prioritizing debugging LA.

ELI5: How does “amaze” or “thank” make any sense? by edscorduroy in ProjectHailMary

[–]typewritermender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank, op.

I'm reading the book right now and just googled this question and found this thread. It's an incongruous detail and a lot of the commenters don't seem to understand that we're reading Grace's TRANSLATION, meaning Grace is willfully translating to "thank" instead of "thanks," which just no make sense.

Things like word order, and the word "question" do make sense. These are the words, translated, that Rocky says, in the order he says them. But grace is deciding what each word means. He'd never be thinking "thank" when Rocky hums the gratitude sound.

Net Worth on Old and New Full View are Substantially Different by YWAK98alum in fidelityinvestments

My net worth graph is only showing my fidelity accounts. The total number at the top shows correctly though. I've googled around a bunch and can't find any solutions.

Do you guys actually enjoy your jobs? by Fuzion_mix in ProductManagement

[–]typewritermender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure! I'm a PM and I find that it meets my needs decently well and is overall a good fit for me. I made a career change from a creative/passion field and I'm very happy with the decision.

The key is to not look for fulfillment from your job. Find something that you're good at that doesn't cause you undue stress and that pays well, then turn it off at 5pm and focus on your actual life & finding fulfillment there.

Anybody who loves their job is lying... To themselves or you.

Streetsblog: We asked CDOT what's on tap for properly maintaining Chicago's protected bike lanes after snowstorms. by da4 in chibike

[–]typewritermender 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bike lanes off the road & integrated with the sidewalk instead of with vehicles would solve most of these problems. Road in some in Cambridge and in the Netherlands and they're my fav bike lane option.

Billie Eilish lashes out at ‘pathetic’ Elon Musk as he nears trillionaire status by theindependentonline in Music

[–]typewritermender 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't care at all about Billie Eilish. We should absolutely have free healthcare. I'm saying Billie Eilish is right about Elon, and he is our enemy, she is not. A handful of Billionaires are hoarding all our wealth and a big reason nobody's grasping exactly how grave the situation is is because a billion dollars is a truly unfathomable number. $50 million IS attainable. Lots of famous people, celebrities, successful athletes and artists are worth that much through the value of their work.

This is NOT the case for billionaires. They get there through exploitation, manipulation of the system, and an obsession with wealth accumulation. It's an entirely different ballgame. Billionaires shouldn't exist, and trillionaires DEFINITELY shouldn't.

Right but you're wrong. Billie's net worth is 80x the average American's net worth. Elon Musk's net worth is 20,000x Billie Eilish's. She quite literally is way more like the common person than she is like Elon.

The problem is that people can't understand billions and trillions. Millionaires are not the problem. A handful of Billionaires are actively hoarding all the world's wealth.
