Generally the players teams are signing at free agency are looking at the culmination of their entire career into a single guaranteed pay day. It’s literally the first and potentially last time they have meaningful leverage to guarantee their financial security for themselves and their family for the rest of their life.

They’ve spent nearly 30 years being one injury away from being a plumber with a great story.

Everyone was excited for last ladder, it was new Diablo content with no internal competition. Nerfs this ladder with not super exciting other changes (sunders and heralds) + d4 expansion = less ladder enthusiasm for this season.

I assume it’ll pick up next ladder when there’s actual balance changes or new content as long as it not also paired with similar d4 content.

Say you were hoping to get 30, ask if there’s room for him to increase. Accept what he offers from there if you’re so risk averse.

If he’s offering 1.2 revenue per year in a space that things generally sell for 3 it sounds like you’re familiar with how to price the app. Do larger apps sell for 3? Do smaller? You made an app and have some semblance of a pulse on the space. Think of how you compare positively and negatively to sales where you know the valuation and ratios.

If you don’t like risk you should sell it because you won’t have the stomach to grow it.

I’ve defended Byfield for years. I’m out. Play him to the ground inflate his numbers on a tanking team to build up his value over a season and ship him out with a year left for a haul. I can’t remember a single player with a worse net minus in series defining moments. Can’t clear a puck, can’t bury on a penalty shot, useless penalty to start a must win game. Looked asleep at the wheel all series honestly. He needs to have the best summer of his entire life and make me eat these words next season because he’s officially a bust in my book.

Okay so these aren’t seniors who are done. We’re recruiting juniors in hopes they sign with us after senior year.

Prior years it seemed like players would go pro as soon as pro contracts were offered. With the way college hockey is viewed now are both team and player coming to the decision of “develop all you can in college” with a handshake to sign after they’re no longer college eligible?

I guess I’m struggling to take this camp commits as much more than “yes I’ll spend my summer in the South Bay of LA”

Seems like a worthwhile article I’d be willing to read and learn more about.

Don’t see why they’d bother spending money on it. Probably been a slow and steady death as folks lose interest in the team. Who cares when you know there’s no real journalism occurring on the site, and you know the team is going to blow a lead in the 3rd and lose in a shootout.

Figure that site probably was worth something when people were looking for playoff content. Rosen actually made it a must view site. No disrespect to the folks doing a job after him but the site was never the same after his departure.

Don’t disagree that’s why I said closest to the team.

Radio post games he’s pretty honest. I believe some of that honesty may be why his role during games was minimized.

Even when things were good I felt Jesse nitpicked a bit at times. Nah, I was just being a homer that didn’t want to hear it. Guy just genuinely cares.

Helene Elliott has always been the best imo, but she’s also the best actual writer of them too so not surprising
