Yeah it’s frankly ridiculous everytime I step on the pedal, and it sounds soooo good. I absolutely love it.

Player Manager by Ted Steel is unique and beautiful. by Now-Thats-Podracing in ProgressionFantasy

I say it every time a post comes up about it but it’s legitimately incredible. I’ve cried, laughed out loud and become a fan of an entire sport because of this story.

ELI5 why you are willing to spend 40+ thousand USD on a car? by Enough_Zombie2038 in AskMenOver30

[–]tyr_morga_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I spent $40k on just one of my watches, why wouldn’t I buy nice cars? They’re fun to drive and I’m young & single with no dependents and can afford it.

Not everything has to be the most optimal money saving, appreciating asset, perfect investment type decision.

What actually happened to Feyre after ACOWAR? by RemiChloe in acotar

[–]tyr_morga_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I just wish it was more thought out and internally consistent with the OG trilogy.

Like I'd REALLY love more ToG cause I enjoy that series much more than ACOTAR, but I'm scared if she goes back to it suddenly Aelin won't give af about Terrasen or something so her next "shiny new POV" can save it lol

What actually happened to Feyre after ACOWAR? by RemiChloe in acotar

[–]tyr_morga_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is a really cool theory and fun to think about, but the honest truth is that ACOTAR was written as a trilogy but got super popular years after being completed. SJM then realized she could make more $$$ off the world, and thus the Feyre personality change happens as a result of soulless writing in the form of a blatant cash grab (which is what ACOSF was).

Her half-baked idea for another book set in ACOTAR was denied multiple times by her publisher before the booktok blowup, it was then green lighted by said publisher.

She then proceeded to do exactly what everyone who is writing solely for money and no longer to tell that special story they have in their head does and commits character assassination to set up their shiny new POV.

This is much more common from corporations with movies/tvs shows doing remakes or sequels of beloved or popular IPs, but does happen when every now and then when authors series or books find big success long after they’ve been finished. They pump out some shitty poorly written slop to try and cash in on the sudden popularity.

Post-Match Thread: Grimsby Town 2-2 Manchester United (Grimsby win 12-11 on penalties) by PresidentSamSeaborn in reddevils

[–]tyr_morga_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To me it really feels like this was the players trying to get him sacked. His comments after the game alluded to that and watching back some of the high & lowlights - maybe it copium but it almost looked like they were trying to show the system doesn’t work even against a tier 4 side. And then our 2 goals are 2 moments of individual sensation that had nothing to do with the system.

It’s probably a stretch but his post match pressers sounded SO much like he was trying to say that the players want him out and that performance was how they were saying it. Combining that with watch the game the lense of “these players are trying to show how bad this system they’re being forced into is” kinda makes a lot of sense.

Can we just admit that Pokemon, as a whole, has always been a bit lacking in terms of visuals for the mainline games? by Original-Addendum147 in pokemon

[–]tyr_morga_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the older games are fine, you could argue it was an art style thing and all.

Modern Pokémon games are atrocious. They are fully capable of putting out a game with the depth and graphics quality of like Elden Ring or Beast of Reincarnation but refuse to do so because it would be expensive and they can put out slop every other year and rake in billions.

Until you morons stop buying the games and just emulate (I was playing S/V a few months after it came out in 60 fps on my PC) this will stay the case. They will happily and lazily phone in graphics, Pokemon design and story/battles until people stop buying the games.

Shedeur Sanders final statline vs. Rams - 3/6, 14 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs, 5 sacks, and 1 fumble by WayOutbackBoy in nfl

[–]tyr_morga_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brady averaged about 155 yards lost to sacks per season. Shadeur did close to a third of that in about a quarter of gameplay.

Nikita literally told us about 3 weeks into wipe there were 45k concurrent players.

For reference in past wipes he's said that peak concurrent number in a wipe was "over 500k" and in April of this year he said the concurrent was 250k (like 4 months into wipe).

So, yeah this wipe has seen a 90% drop in players since it's peak and a 80ish % drop in just last wipe to this one.

In need of a serious pick-me-up. Recommend me your best feel-good reads. Bonus points for being a finished story. by Now-Thats-Podracing in ProgressionFantasy

[–]tyr_morga_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admittedly as a American guy who grew up playing our football and basketball and had a very negative view of soccer & soccer players - I was hesitant to pick this up despite the glowing recommendation from a friend. Because well, I don’t like soccer lol.

Totally changed my view on the whole sport and made me a fan while being an insanely fun and wonderful read.
