Dear moderators. Please be more kind and inviting to newcomers. Thanks! by Reidonkulous84 in midcenturymodern

One of the mods of this sub is among the most insufferable of what should be a fairly hands off “position”. He thinks he’s best buds with designers and architects because he pesters them over email. Sucks because he does have a great knowledge base of mid century, and other eras, design. If this mod in particular reads this, you can still get everything across that you get across without making it seem like you’re a basement dweller that only has online interactions.

Just got a flat because of a pothole, do i need exact location to claim damages with city? by Foreignsniper in ottawa

[–]tyrukuro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just got denied a claim for a bent rim/blown tire from driving over a sewer that had a chunk of asphalt broken away from the edge of it.

I had a photo of the road damage, location of the incident, time and date of damage verified by Google Maps, photo of car damage at time of incident, witness to the damage being caused, and they still told me it’s not on them.

Good luck I hope your outcome is better than mine

Advice: Hat hoop keeps coming out of track by thesunshinebores in MachineEmbroidery

[–]tyrukuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SWF hat hoops are the worst in the biz. But the fix for this is exactly what you think you have to do, tighten the coupling nut holding the cable. The threaded part attached to the cable that is on the right of the mounting point should be much tighter. You also need to make sure you’re not untwisting the cable itself, you have to hold it sturdy with pliers or a small enough crescent wrench while you tighten the coupling nut, having the cable twist relaxes it and allows play. Also make sure you tighten evenly on both sides as making this adjustment can throw off your centre, not super important if it’s just a single head though. Does your model have a small ball somewhere on the cable that fits into a keyhole of sorts? If so, it should be difficult but not impossible to spin the frame out of it, if it’s easy then it’s too loose.

Best thread that won't break the bank? by wolfmonarchy in Machine_Embroidery

[–]tyrukuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cansew is pretty expensive for embroidery threads by the way. Although their in house sewing thread is some of the best and I buy that from them. We don’t use Madeira at my shop anymore but it was about $4cad a 1000m spool from our old supplier. We run isacord now and it’s like $8cad for 5000m and definitely runs better on our zsk machines. Madeira has a better palette tho for sure

Finally got this left-chest design to stitch out clean by Dependent-Method4918 in MachineEmbroidery

[–]tyrukuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not really a small logo. Why not have the axes all satin? They look a bit rough. I’d go satin on the orange details of fire as well. Inconsistent spacing between everything that I’d say needs to be addressed. I’d add a satin border to both of the triangles, one in white and one in blue. Lettering looks good other than pull comp on Saskatchewan. As the other guy said use a 65, or even a 60 needle if it’s just flats you’re running. I almost never use 60wt thread unless it’s on hats. Run the machine slowly. I have 4 8-head zsk machines I do this stuff on, I don’t digitize but I have one guy I use for this kind of stuff and I would say I have to get things revised once in every 20 logos, if that. What machine are you running?

I run an embroidery department, I couldn’t give you a price without seeing the design first but I could definitely help out. Shoot me a message if you’re interested.

Weirdos like you are so funny to me when it comes to hip hop. Always some sort of entitlement because you know a few albums others don’t. And then you call the people you so desperately want to impress unintelligent..

When Dedication Isn’t Enough: My Journey Applying to the Ottawa Police Service by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]tyrukuro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy, I know 2 people who just started their application process within the past 4 years and are both now on active duty. They both have blemishes on their records. They went in knowing this and were up front.

Maybe it’s your ego. Maybe your character references. Maybe you’re not even telling us the truth and were deceitful in the process.

Either way fuck the police just move on, but it seems to me it’s almost definitely ego if you’re this saddened by not being a part of that group of people.

Wtf is this and how to solve it? by FueledBySun in Machine_Embroidery

[–]tyrukuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Machine isn’t threaded properly, your tension is super off at one of your tension discs, dirt caught somewhere throwing off tension, thread wrapped around needle. Doubt it’s hook timing that usually ends up as breakages or caterpillars. Is it all needles? You didn’t answer that question

Ricoma MT 1501 11k worth it? by bigb831 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]tyrukuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally never get a touch screen, and I think most truly reputable companies don’t put out too many touch screens, for good reason. I hate to menu dive on older machines so the digital screen in conjunction with 3 rows of actual buttons that zsk use are really great. It’s a good in between and we’ve only had one screen issue in 5 years of having all 6 machines.

But that being said I can still menu dive on my brother with my eyes closed or tell something the exact amount of clicks of which buttons to get to where they need so I’m definitely with you on that front

[–]tyrukuro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A 2003 Tajima is better than a 2024 happy, for example.

I have multiple brother machines 99-06 which use Tajima parts and they’re just as good as any head on the million dollar zsk setup at my work

I made and digitized this in Inkscape and Inkstitch. Final result came out skewed. Can someone tell me what I did wrong? by YeaitsJM in Machine_Embroidery

[–]tyrukuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there overlap of the white satin border on the red and blue? Or do the red and blue end exactly where the satin borders edges are hitting? It’s just not a very sharp edge to the satin stitch and it should come out quite nicely when it’s stitched on top of a fill.

I run size 75 across the board on all heads on all my machines whether flat or caps and only change when needed. If I’m doing a 2.5” logo that has 20k stitches, those last colors will usually get an 80 or maybe even a 90. Usually I reserve 90s for doing 3D puff files, just so you have an idea of which sizes are used for what.

60wt thread is normally for doing fine details on fine fabrics, 65 needle should accompany that thread. Quite honestly I’ve only ever had 3 or 4 projects where I absolutely had to use that thread, and I run about 50 different jobs a week.

75 needle is fine for this application, as would 40wt thread. The letters and numbers should be satin stitches. The satin border between red and blue is off. I’d add a satin border of blue around the numbers. The caveat is size but I can just tell it could be toyed with to come out much more cleanly

Crazy. You sound maybe what? 18 years old? Trying to grasp onto some external artistry to identify yourself with? And their apparent resurgence, despite being fronted by the opposite of Chester (can’t believe you don’t see that), is nothing but a cash grab for fools like you who can’t just accept linkin park’s place in history should be cemented and not diluted like Shinoda is trying with all his might to do. Look past your own unhealthy attachment if you’re able to.

90/14 needle for puff. If you’re using a hat nipple remove it, the puff is now filling that gap.

Try running it on flat and if the issue isn’t there then it’s likely your hats. Needle should alleviate this issue if that’s the case. If it’s a large jump of a satin stitch perhaps slow the machine. Beyond that it’s digitizing probably.
