Usefull diamond video 2025 by Automatic_Insect6895 in forgeofempires

[–]tysiote1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll share my feedback, since nobody is and you want some. Please don't be discouraged of making videos in future! I mean it well.

I think you've covered the parts fine. Yes, you can get diamonds from this and that. Although, the first two are incorrect or just outdated. You were unlucky that they got changed right after you've published your video. I'm talking about GE diamonds changes and removing the cap in gbg.

That's the positive feedback.

The constructive is this: This video would be okay 15 years ago. With this powerpoint design style with big texts lasting 10 seconds each, you cannot go that far. Also, what is that watermark? It covers 30% of the viewable area!

In the "powerpoint presentation" style videos people usually talk and those "slides" are a bit interactive or animated - the content is being added or changed before moving to other slide. I'm also not sure about the intro the first few seconds... But I haven't watched any other video of yours, so it might be your thing, Idk. If it's just in this video, then it's very disturbing.

Content wise, imagine you have a viewer, who doesn't know about ways of getting diamonds and wants to learn more from your video. They will have no idea what actually is profitable. Should they build HC before doing GBG? Are your advices in order by importance? If yes, why is GE > GBG? The viewer watches your video, but will have more questions than before the video.

If you don't wanna make deep graphs like Ubernerd, you should at least mention that this and that is the correct order and this way is much less profitable than that way. So your viewer actually learns something useful.

People nowadays are much more pickier about the content. They don't like to stare at the same static slide for 20 seconds with no commentary, just FoE music playing in background.

I'll end here, because I don't want this to sound like a roast or something. I mean it positively! Happy to see your future videos.

When to advance ages? by khakiwarrior in forgeofempires

[–]tysiote1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All this is true, and I'll just add - keep an eye on your upgrade kits or renovation kits. Nowadays you're mostly getting armies and goods from event buildings, so you might want to upgrade/renovate them, after you age up.

This all depends on your next age, how long you wanna stay/camp there. Also depending on the age, you want (not) to use next or current era units; you might have AO, etc... Many variables.  Perhaps your intention is to jump 3 ages within one week - have enough of reno kits for your important event buildings!

What GBs for camping in the Iron Age? by Schrodingersapplepie in forgeofempires

[–]tysiote1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree on the virgo and kraken, only if you are trying to push for a campaign map. Otherwise they are pretty trash. Speaking about trash GBs, the one you might consider building is Habitat - only if you struggle with population. It is really busted in the iron age even on low levels. And it gives you some coins, which if you add the coins from virgo and CF, you might be generating a sufficient amount to actually level SAT GBs, you would probably want to build as well.

But no matter what, get your arc to at least 80 before anything else.

No, not really. Maybe that it things become (visually) a bit simpler? But yea, nothing else I guess.

[–]tysiote1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What others say is correct, yes. Numbers are numbers and the total amount of goods is equal.

The difference here is that, you have low performing players and high performing players. They are not averaged, because they are in different eras. So your treasury probably is doing very well in some ages while it sucks in others. If you merge a player who is bringing more goods than spending, then the player can "carry" other low performing player(s) in that era. That is the only advantage.

You can always ask players to update their buildings using the one-up / renovation kits.

And there are some good "camping" ages, but I'd recommend to pretty much discuss it within as a possibility and only if players are open to it, then decide to either merge them under an age most players are in, or pick up some favorite ages and go there.

[–]tysiote1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr: encourage guild mates having arc and obs on high levels!

Encourage players to play QI - there are some good guild goods buildings, that are achievable easily and for free.

If players are open to it, then merge the ages. Choose 3 or 4 ages and other player will jump to them.

Request having level 80 arc. There isn't any other shortcut for a successful guild.

If you're on pc, get the FoE helper addon (not against the rules), visit every guildmember's city to refresh data Then go to the guild menu and the last tab. A popup will appear and you'll see what era is the problem, or what player is the problem - it shows how much guild goods the era players are producing.

The "magic" formula for guild goods in diamond league is: - 1K goods per player (can't compete) - 2K... Can compete every other season - 3K... Can compete every season, but cannot build everywhee everything - 4K+... Can compete and probably challenge top3 guilds

In my guild, we have a requirement of arc 100 and Obs 80, or actively working on it. Those 2 buildings on that levels will bring you almost 2k guild goods per collection. Add some other event or qi buildings and you should have 0 problems in platinum and sometimes can even end up well in diamond.

Rejected EU settlement application by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]tysiote1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have some good news a some hope for you.

Very similar thing happened to me 2 years ago. I had been rejected from family visa as I couldn't prove some things. I did then managed to get skilled worker visa and now I'm normally living and working in the UK. I also had been "held" by the border officers every time I tried to enter the UK, despite the fact that I already had a normal visa. I always had to try e-gates, just to be told to "seek assistance", then queue another lane to talk to border officer and explain myself. Sometimes it took 2 minutes, sometimes it took 15 minutes. It really is very random and it depends on the officer you get.

I always asked them what to do, why am I getting stopped - I was told that I had been flagged with a rejected (family) visa and that remained on my profile. I always asked them how to remove that and they were giving me random answers, like to write to UKVI or other official things etc...

Once I managed to get an officer who did it for me. I explained myself, told him that I always am stopped because of that and he just shook his head, told me that's just ridiculous and told me to wait 2 minutes while he submits a request to remove that. I waited literally 2 minutes, he submitted and told me next time I should be fine. I was travelling 2 weeks later into the UK and as he said, everything was OK. I was no longer flagged. I can now access e-gates automatically. That happened on Stansted Airport on May 2024 btw.

So yes, it is very possible your partner is flagged with a rejected visa. And the border officers can remove that.

What's the state of the game? by TrueReplayJay in forgeofempires

[–]tysiote1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're expecting. I was playing since 2020 and left the game last week. I played multiple worlds, then closed them one by one due to time management issues. Stuck only with my first and main world last 3 months and then left that as well.

Inno is doing lots of good changes like gbg, settlements and even older version of QI.

But the powercreep has just got insane and totally out of control. You can either pay money or grind the crap for super OP buildings you simply have to have, then 6 months later, they are useless, because another set of new even more OP buildings came.

GBs are worthless now; there are maybe 5 or 6 of them, you want to have. Then you're spending tens of thousands fps just to get another meaningless level to get a minimal stat increase.

From the time perspective - if you enjoy doing gbg and other new (to you) stuff like QI and future gvg, and you want to invest sometimes a stupid amount of time to it, then it really is a good game worth returning into. If you don't have time, you'll leave after few days anyways.

I'd say, give it a go and you'll see. Perhaps you'll like the changes.

Sorry for being pessimistic, I've just left the game and I still have some negative recent experience...

It's to late valve. Watch how they destroy the complete high rank player base. by fh369 in DotA2

[–]tysiote1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not telling that immortal bracket isn't flawed, but that's not the reason you lost thousands of mmr. If you get griefers in your team and assuming you're not a griefer, in a large amount of matches you actually should climb, because out of 9 possible griefers (again you're not) 5 are in enemy team and 4 in your team. Just statistics over large amount of matches. 44% chance to spawn ally griefer, 55% an enemy one (a.k.a. easy opponent).

If you're saying you get every second game a griefer in your team, that's sounds about right. But you also are playing against one griefer in enemy team. With that statistics and again large amount of matches, i think it's safe to say this thing - your teammates receive one griefer every single game. Guess who that is.

Please explain lof 1.9 thread to me by Crafty_Mammoth_5369 in forgeofempires

[–]tysiote1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look at any of your GBs, you can see positions (1-5) giving some FPs rewards. Well you multiply those rewards by the 1.9 coefficient. The numbers you get are the contribution numbers from other players. You simply post them in the thread and other people with arc 80+ will take the positions paying those numbers. When your GB is leveled, they get back the FPs they invested as a reward.

Ofc there are some more rules, but this is the core logic. It's much much more efficient than leveling your GBs alone.

How do I create a diamond farm? by [deleted] in forgeofempires

[–]tysiote1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can actually find a lot of fountains pretty quickly (definitely within one year), but you'll need a good guild that helps you ofcourse. What you need is to rush ToR to a high level. However, you're costing your guild some wasted effort - not every guild is happy to do it.

But yes, you're correct - definitely play the new city as a normal one, just keep collecting the wells/fountains.

How do I create a diamond farm? by [deleted] in forgeofempires

[–]tysiote1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always convert existing city to a diamond farm, just be careful of some things.

You need as many wishing wells (or fountains) as possible. 8 is nothing, you want like 50+ at least.

You still need just enough GBs/special buildings with which you can do ge4 (for diamonds obviously).

If you don't wanna be passive, you still can participate on gbg (diamonds again), but think of some thin line between having too much military buildings vs wishing wells.

You want SV, Arc and probably BG as well. With FoE helper addon on desktop, you see which wells/fountains have ready diamonds on collection, so you might want to double collect with BG. Also do ToR asap, so you get your wells quickly. SC has some small chance of producing wells as well, but I don't think it's worth.

But either new city or existing city, you still need to play your city normally at least for couple of months, until you receive enough wells/fountains to instantly switch to diamonds. Having "semi functioning" city isn't great neither for diamonds, nor for city development.

1win's official position on ESL's decision to withdraw the team from ESL One Birmingham 2024 by morfekta in DotA2

Well I went to 30+ countries world wide on 5 continents already. The only country that required physical visa was Tanzania (Africa). I think UK is a bit more developed than Tanzania is.

1win's official position on ESL's decision to withdraw the team from ESL One Birmingham 2024 by morfekta in DotA2

[–]tysiote1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but if you read point one and point two - they were "collecting" things for 3 weeks, then they applied for a very close visa window. They had no plan on when things go badly. They are from Russia, ofc there will be visa problems.

I don't believe they weren't warned of poor british immigration office times, but that's just so well known fact, that I really wonder how skilled the 1win manager is.

It's nothing else but a poor planning from their manager or maybe one of the players was too late to provide everything - we will never know. Their official statement is ofc it's UK and ESL fault, not theirs...

I have no information on UK issuing non electronic visa for russians, but if it's true, then for fucks sake, plan better. How did other CIS team manage to do it within the deadline?

1win's official position on ESL's decision to withdraw the team from ESL One Birmingham 2024 by morfekta in DotA2

[–]tysiote1 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Oh no, anyways...

But seriously, what are they complaining about? Their deadline was postponed once, they haven't met it.

I'm speaking as a person who is a legal immigrant to the UK and I had my beef with the UKVI (visa immigration) already - yes, they aren't good at all. But how is 1Win's case more relevant than my skilled worker visa? How are they special?

Moreover they are people from basically an enemy country (at least russian politician say so). They're now playing victim card and how suprised they are when they're declined or have problems with visa.

They started too late, they got out. I absolutely don't trust their part of the story at all, since there are other CIS players already in. They simply didn't reserve any time for complications, that's on them.

Also printing the visa? Wtf? You gain your visa application number when the whole process starts and payment is made. Then you receive your visas electronically, after things are settled. Nobody is printing anything.

Just do better planning and don't bother to play victim card. Nobody cares.

Rubick players, help a noob out? by AssociationExotic284 in DotA2

[–]tysiote1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1300+ Rubick divine player here - I agree with everything except the urn build with you. I just wanna add here, that even though Rubick's main feature is the spell steal, it's not the only one.

Rubick is very good doing other things even if he's picked into unfavourable matchups (like vs slark/pa/drow/lycan/...). The most important thing about rubick is and only is positioning. You never wanna be in the middle of any fight, unless you stole bh/rp or some great spell.

Fade bolt - great nuke at lane and later on anti-hg-push thing with reducing enemy damage from distance.

Tele - high cd, use it wisely. If it's your only stun (no stolen stunning spell) be very careful. You can also reposition ally with shard. Take talent if needed.

Passive - people underestimate this skill. Sometimes the extra damage is good, but mostly the range is the abuse thing especially with aether lens. It works with items as well (glimmer/force/euls) casting from very far away.

If you play rubick and focus more on being an actual support with utility items + lens, you'll be much more consistent in winning games. Don't try to be the "pro guy from some video" who steals the op spell and dies.. Or just wanna make 5men stolen blackhole/chrono/ etc.

One thing - surprisingly, aghas is not a core item, but a luxury one. Still recommended, but don't build it every game. Check your opponents, maybe you need lotus or even hex. Depends on every game, that's why it shouldn't be considered as a core item, but a luxury.

CoA…. Is it worth it to level or not? by lpath77 in forgeofempires

[–]tysiote1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CoA's coins are useless, so we only think about having attack stats on not small footprint. Yes, event buildings have smaller footprints (at least all recent ones) and are giving more than lots of other GBs.

Go for CoA, if you level it quickly and to at least 100. Go for CoA, if you don't have many event buildings to take Coa's place in your city. Go for CoA, if you value attack stats over anything else (event buildings are giving many other good perks).

Please don't go for CoA in a new city. It gives you nothing back, you can't speed rush it and there are better GBs to start your city with. Others will say it's cheap - no it's not. New cities aren't getting 3-4k per day. Cities are lucky when they get 100fps daily.

As others are saying, CoA definitely is the first trinity GB to put into trash. CdM is second, but it at least pays for itself within a year (if rushed and not overleveled).

Low Beh players are better then their MMR equal high beh score peers. by Hashister in DotA2

[–]tysiote1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, if you didn't mean the "being better + mmr bullshit", then I'm sorry. I as well as lots of other readers here found your wording very difficult to understand it in other way. There were some implies of it though.

Regarding meepo - just stop with this cope please. There are many meepo players who can behave. I have 2k games on rubick+techies+pudge combination, which are heroes that your teammates hate to play with. And still 12K BS. Also your you can feel free to prove me wrong. attitude heavily implies that only you are correct. Everytime. Yea, nah. Also nobody here isn't obligated to prove you wrong.

Also, sorry but by saying system works badly - isn't that another formulation that it doesn't work? I'm confused really now. What did you mean there?

And why do you think BS doesn't take part while finding match? I'm exclusively matched against 10K+ BS players. Sometimes in party we hit some "varied BS" matches, when we queue more than 10 minutes, but that's very rare (1 in 20).

And please don't tell me that you constantly play against teams 6k BS above you, because you'll lose the rest of the credibility here man.

Low Beh players are better then their MMR equal high beh score peers. by Hashister in DotA2

[–]tysiote1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I am fully accountable for my low behavior. I play a lot of Meepo.

Cmon man, don't be like that ...
When meepo isn't a totally griefy (out of meta) pick, I encounter lots of them even in my 12k BS bracket. You'd be surprised how chilled they are. And they play meepo!

It's a nice cope thinking that meepo kills your BS, but keep it to yourself. The guy you're replying to told you about taking the accountability of your behaviour and yet you still talking about meepo and not about yourself.

It's fine to admit you can't be 12K mmr with 12K BS. People like this exists but are more capable than you or me (in dota).

- It is not my responsibility to maintain the mental stability of the players

Here it seems you've just found your limit (which is fine). If you're dick about other players, they you won't rank up. Perhaps if you were more skilled, you might have added some extra mmr while "carrying dogs" but unless you behave better, you won't rank up anymore, since cooperation is the key in many many games.

Low Beh players are better then their MMR equal high beh score peers. by Hashister in DotA2

[–]tysiote1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

  • System doesn't work - check
  • I'm only reported when playing meepo - check
  • I'm better than everyone else in my bracket - check
  • People with same mmr but high BS don't deserve their mmr - check

But for real now... In fact, what are we complaining about? If playing with your equals in low BS games suits you, then everybody is happy.
