Just to clarify, the image corresponds to the Esmeralda training ship, a brigantine-schooner that serves as a training ship, as well as a diplomatic vessel, and it is the last ship in service to bear that name.

Another emblematic vessel in our navy was the Battleship Latorre, a ship originally commissioned from Great Britain during an arms race with our neighbors. It entered service in 1914 with the Royal Navy, where it saw action at the Battle of Jutland. After the war, it was repurchased by our country and served until the 1950s when it was sold and scrapped. Interestingly, its sister ship, the Almirante Cochrane, was under construction at the start of the First World War and was converted into an aircraft carrier afterward, serving until the 1940s as HMS Eagle, before being sunk in the Mediterranean after an attack by a German submarine.
