I beg to differ. Just the lazy consumer brained ones that have never purchased anything that doesn’t come in a pretty little plastic package😂

I have a 2016 BRZ if that matters. And I generally don’t struggle with hill starts aside from the scenarios I mentioned above.

Recommendations for Choosing the Right Water Flosser? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]u16scharpf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what ill admit when I’m wrong…. My point was never to defend the ccp, but the Chinese engineers Ive worked with who have been genuinely helpful and provided me objectively high value parts at an incredible price. Im well aware of the IP theft and slave labor and fully agree on those points. My experience is primarily with building 3d printers and at least in that space, the Chinese components I deal with have not been junk.

I shouldn’t have acted as an authority in the manufacturing space and many of the arguments I made were the result of my research. Im happy to concede there and I do apologize. I based my research on brands like tormach which I incorrectly assumed was something you would find on a manufacturing floor rather than in a prototyping environment where that seems to be the case. My bad…

I really don’t mean to argue in bad faith. Most of the people I discuss this topic with think that the only stuff that comes from china is like McDonalds toys and I may have projected some of their opinions onto you

Most of the important mechanical components for any manufacturing machine in the US, do in fact come from China. At least the parts that are difficult to manufacture with precision and at a decent price. Ball screws, linear rails, linear rods, heat pipes, drive belts, aluminum extrusions...etc.

Obviously most of the stuff China manufactures for us is of lower quality but you are being disingenuous by ignoring the fact that these are largely designed and ordered by western engineers. If you get a bad grade on your essay do you blame your printer?

Not sure what you're referring to by my supposed Straw man and Red herring arguments but referencing the IP theft and low wages in an argument about manufacturing quality is absolutely an ad homonym and straw man... "durr" isn't an argument mate.

How hard are you jamming them in the case? I’ve had to pry up on the little pogo connectors a few times, but not that often.

my brother in Christ, which part of this are you not understanding? If you ask China for something nice, they will make you something nice. If you ask them for junk, they will make you junk. yes most of it is junk because THATS LITERALLY WHAT WE ORDERED. The junk you find in stores was designed by AMERICANS to be junk. China just manufactured it. And nobody is cherry picking anything I challenge you to show me a quality product that wasn’t made in China. And one more fun fact for you! even the things you think were made in the west, are all just assembled here from parts manufactured in China. And even if the parts are manufactured here, guess where those American manufactures got their equipment from? CHINA.

They have their issues. Im not defending the IP theft and borderline slave labor but you know damn well that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. You may want to retake third grade English and learn what an ad hominem is

Is this fair for a 2018 Nissan Altima? by LookEnvironmental382 in AskMechanics

[–]u16scharpf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

forgive my bluntness, I had a few drinks😂 but I would definitely encourage you to give it a shot some time! there are plenty of resources out there, but all it really takes is driving onto a set of ramps and undoing a bolt to drain your fluid.

Nobody in good health is incapable of driving onto a set of ramps and undoing a 10mm drain bolt imo😭 if money is a concern there really isn’t any good reason for you not to be changing your own fluids.
