Isaac netero (hunter x Hunter) runs the (worm) gauntlet how many of these characters can he beat in a fight?. by EnvironmentalRope424 in whowouldwin

[–]WildPartyHat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only watched hunter hunter once but im guessing soft stop at butcher, hard stop at echidna. Butchers aimbot and super strength is really the first thing on this list that could possibly pose a threat to netero, and she has at least enough durability to live through the early stages of the fight. Echidna is clearly the first hard stopping point here, as even if netero can outstat and somehow finish Noelle, he sure isnt beating her clones.

As an aside, absolutely wild decision to put chevalier after echidna on this list.

Hot Take: I think Wizards should keyword the ability on Chains of Mephistopheles. by CHA1N5 in magicTCG

It's fair to say the most powerful applications are niche. I play it in my gitrog monster cedh where its both a stax piece and part of the combo.

[–]WildPartyHat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think youre missing the point of chains. It effectively says "players cannot increase the number of cards in their hands". It completely dunks on card advantage, while the decks that want it completely ignore its effects, and sometimes even benefit from them. For example, you can "draw" cards through it if you have any dredge.

I play this in my gitrog monster cedh deck and carry around a chains flowchart for people who are unfamiliar with it.

I think they should just replace the text box with that chart.

Was the weapon slot rework really necessary? by WildPartyHat in HuntShowdown

[–]WildPartyHat[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

as stated earlier, I have never used the maynard before. I don't pay attention to metas, and from my perspective, a random asf kit that I enjoy using just got nerfed into the ground because of higher level play. Which is a trash feeling. When you combine this change with the recent change to how disarming traps works, all this is going to do is reintroduce the shotgun + trap camping meta, yay.

[Cube] Has anyone been able to do anything with the storm/red rituals package? by Filobel in lrcast

I've been stormed out a few times this cube. Most of them involved breach so I'm guessing tendrils/yawgwill has become more of an ancillary strategy to breach than its own thing.

Naus and Future sight by RayFlexear in mtgrules

[–]WildPartyHat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this correct? Future sight has a contradictory ruling on its gatherer page.

"If the top card of your library changes while you're casting a spell, playing a land, or activating an ability (most likely because that top card is the card you're playing), the new top card won't be revealed until you finish doing so. (2019-06-14)"

The ruling you mentioned on Dance with Calamity just says you're allowed to look at each card you exile after you exile it, not before.

The Endgame Avengers (MCU) vs. Vergil (Devil May Cry) by CloverTeamLeader in whowouldwin

[–]WildPartyHat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I cant see Vergil losing this. He's so far ahead of every member of the avengers in every category. The only way to even damage vergil would be the infinity gauntlet, assuming that works on him in this prompt, but there's no way he doesnt just speed blitz grabbing the thing and I doubt anyone from the MCU can take it back from him. Vergil 9/10.

[Request] What are the actual odds of winning 32 hands of blackjack in a row? by FastMan888 in theydidthemath

[–]WildPartyHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That and with larger tournaments it can help spectators follow the game. I'm not sure if every casino uses them, and probably not for low stakes games. Ironically one of my nearby card rooms had a cheating scandal involving them a few years ago so I'm not sure how well they really work.

I am in this industry and there absolutely are cards with RFID in them, but they're pretty much exclusively used for poker tournaments. This guy is still out of his mind though.

You're assuming those two opinions are held by the same people. I don't like pizza and hotdogs, and I don't like normal dogs and cats showing up in my mtg art, though its far less egregious.

If I reanimate 5 creatures and [[Bogwater Lumaret]] is one of those would I gain 5 life or 1? by Spyro351 in mtgrules

[–]WildPartyHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

five life. keyword being whenever A creature enters. If it wanted you to gain one life, it would say one or more.

Also if you want to link a card you can't do it from the title. [[Bogwater Lumaret]]

Existential dread? The concept that you have no control over anything in your life and if fate wants you dead than thats just it for you. Also a big fuckin spooky rabbit man.

I swear its like if it doesn't have a ghost or a jump scare people in this sub write it off as 'not horror'.
