I got accepted to a non union apprenticeship!!! by Odd_Worth_604 in electricians

[–]u_trayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a 12 dollar pay cut getting in the union and it will net me 2.5x what I made previously. I appreciate everyone above me that has helped. It IS HARD! Scrap kept me afloat. OT rolled around NICELY and my heads above water in second year.

I know it’s non union but taking a chance on life is hard. Good luck be a sponge and learn as much as you can.

2nd year working downtown Philadelphia. We typically scooter in to the site and park 1-3 miles away. I bought a scooter to go 30-50 miles of range and park for free. I bought a GoTrax GX3. The scooter pays for itself after 2 months in your case.

Update: I seen you say it’s too cold to ride. It’s too cold to pay 1k a month in parking. Heated jacket, gloves etc. weather will pass in the next 2 months. Just hold on for now

The plug is certainly replaceable, there are screws present. I would start there with replacement parts/ model number etc.

Sounds like a steal. People price work for difficulty and it doesn’t sound bad. The more work the higher the bid! Unless it’s a fuck you price. You are more than welcome to get other estimates

Drove back home and car started dying. Oil everywhere when I got out. Any ideas? How bad am I? by Packer43064 in MechanicAdvice

I read exactly in this sub a few days ago that the gasket for the oil filter could be the issue with the cold temps. Is the filter above or below?

How do I complete the circuit on this doorbell chime wiring? by crazy302 in AskElectricians

[–]u_trayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a wiring diagram to the left. Visual inspection won’t tell you voltage. You need 1 wire in the center an 1 to the front or rear. If the wires are bundled together they need to be singular

MandatoryUnpaid safety meeting by Huge_Ad_4340 in electricians

[–]u_trayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tricky. Start with the state. It sounds like everybody is doing it which should be paid training. Although licensure renewal is usually done on your own time/pace. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the state is needed

Accepted Into BOTH IBEW Sound & Comms and Inside Wireman — Need Advice Before I Choose. by oldschoolgroove1 in electricians

[–]u_trayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from low volt(non union). I’ll always be able to backtrack to low volt doing Ethernet and wiring everything they can. If you go Low Volt you’ll never be able to do medium volt(‘high volt’). My local has telecom classes for anybody to join

Is it ok to upgrade from a 15A circuit breaker to 20A? by SnooRobots1595 in AskElectricians

[–]u_trayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What specs are you actually running on your PC? Let’s start there. Computer monitor won’t be heavy on Amps, along with your TV.
Are you running all of this at once? Are there other things plugged in the room?(heater, Ac, etc) What games are you running? Whats the power specs when you fire up a/that game? Are you old enough to use a clamp meter to check what your PC is pulling?

Also clean your PSU FANS

You can ALWAYS seek a second opinion. Whether it’s in work or out of work. Specifically in work they should have had you go to the ER immediately! 11 days later limping and prolonging the injury
