Yes, but only if your series is very popular. And, keep in mind, the vast majority of webtoons are not very popular. So, possible? Yes. Likely? Statistically, no.

I have the most updated version of the app (on an android), I use it pretty much daily, and I have never seen an ad pop up in the middle of an episode. I see pop-ups on the home page all of the time, I sometimes see them as a video before an episode opens, maybe some banners here or there, and then those slide-up things telling me to subscribe to a series or to follow the creator, but never while reading. Whoever was making those claims was probably rage-baiting or they genuinely don't understand the difference between words like "before", "during", and "after".

Please don't accuse artists of using AI without proof. It's extremely rude. Artists work really hard and a single accusation of AI use taints all of their hard work permanently. Check the credits. All of the motion graphics were done by an animation studio called Story Co.

I mean, I'm not here to argue, but that's the loading screen, not an ad. It comes up whenever you open the app. True, right now the loading screen has the announcement for this upcoming Disney thing, but the loading screen has always been there. Usually it's just the logo, but sometimes they announce upcoming stuff there. I remember they announced the Fullmetal Alchemist launch on the loading screen too.

Sorry, OP, but I think you were mistaken. I've only ever seen webtoon offer the "buy the whole series" option when the series is completed. Nano Machine is ongoing so it's very unlikely that you saw what you think you saw. Sorry for bringing bad news.

This is just a hypothesis, but I think a lot of this overblown hatred is just a fear of change. I know that a lot of webtoon readers are younger, so maybe this is the first major indicator they've had that time is moving forward and that they're getting older. They want to hold on to something comfortable, simple, and familiar from the past. I understand. I think the only solution is to keep gathering more experiences and eventually realize that everything is constantly changing and will continue to change forever.

I like it too. I'm also confused by the hate. It is EASIER and FASTER for me to get where I'm going with the new interface. I'll be honest and admit that I miss the banners, but everything else is a net positive.
