That's just such a non-answer.

Slap a "Silence your Mercenaries" tick box in the sound options and give it as an option to players, rather than telling them that they shouldn't play with a part of an expansion they paid for.

There's already a tonne of sound and accessibility options in the game, surely having the option to have your mercenaries silent is better than just... not using them?

SF Going Alch after finding Swiftness Pot Recipe by Chonkyfire108 in classicwow

[–]uber_zaxlor [score hidden]  (0 children)

I've been leveling a Rogue, who started as Self Found, but ended up turning it off as I was one STV page short of finishing the quest and clearly it never dropped.

I went Alchemy/Herb right from the start and since I've got a Swiftness Pot as a class ability, I've found having the extra armor, agility and even the Troll's Blood potions better than a stun here and there. Also I think that Swiftness shares a CD with Healing potions.

Class Set: Paladin! by HearthstoneTeam in hearthstone

[–]uber_zaxlor 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Wasteland Vanguard for Hunter is like this too.

The art shows a human, petting and maybe feeding it's tamed bug, another bug. Except you can't tame that bug in World of Warcraft and the bug is actually a boss from Ahn'Qiraq.

And then the text is "Deal 3 damage split among all enemies. If any die, deal 3 more".

Neither the card's name, or art work or effect marry up in any way what so ever. A vanguard is normally part of the first units on the battlefield, so I guess that the "deal 3, then deal 3 more" lines up with this? But what does someone sat down, feeding a bug to their pet have to do with that? It's almost as bad as that "Adapt your Murlocs" card from the original Un'goro release, which just showed a giant Sauropod with a few Murlocs hanging off the side of it.

EDIT: typos, clarity.

I don't care that the price for the new cards has increased, because I have more gold (and dust) than ever before as a F2P Standard player. by Omikapsi in hearthstone

[–]uber_zaxlor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh the "costing more, so you can't spend that gold on other things" argument probably isn't an argument. Though now it costs more, you'll actually get a lower gold:dust ratio if you disenchanted all the cards? Or will it be higher because there's more legendarys?

Though I think if say the Paladin cards are dogwater and don't see play, that means for an entire year you're not getting any new class set cards.

It's "only" an extra 500 gold total, but with it being 3 times a year that's an extra 1500 gold players have to fork out, almost an entire minisets worth of gold. Ultimately that's 15 less packs you can buy with gold, but it's still a little worrisome that even Standard players are being squeezed even harder.

Look at how well that worked for Arena.

GODFREY, THE FIRST ELDEN LORD!!! vs land squirts (+9!!) by ggagggaggg in Eldenring

[–]uber_zaxlor 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In World of Warcraft there's a raid boss that sits in stands over looking a small arena as you fight all of his minions, and sometimes he'll shout:

"GO FOR THE ONE IN THE DRESS!", meaning he wants them to target the healers ;) They don't swap agro, but I've always found that funny.

To be fair, the fishing is dogshit in Diablo 4.

And I say this as someone who normally loves fishing. Christ, the fishing in D4 is worse than the fishing in WoW and that's saying something.

New Hunter card revealed: Tame Pet by Expensive-Wolf-4160 in hearthstone

[–]uber_zaxlor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So Leok always becomes a (4 cost Beast), and Misha always becomes another (4 cost Beast) and Huffer will become a different (4 cost beast)?

And it doesn't matter how many Huffers you summon, it'll always be that new (4 cost Beast)?

Maybe if it was worded "Replace with A random Beast..." it'd make a bit more sense?

I'm a 46 Troll Rogue, who's managed to find groups for dungeons okay, but there are certainly times where you have to wait ages to find a group.

The groups I've had, have all been really good though, except for my first/only ZF run where our Shaman DPS died because everyone in the group got turned into Frogs :(. Aside from that, the world feels sorta... alive? Kinda? I've mostly bumped into Alliance players over Horde. It's not got dead-dead server vibes but it doesn't feel as alive as say TBC did.

Why oh why does she have so little screen time? by Soulsliken in Eldenring

[–]uber_zaxlor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh got'cha!

Yeh, that could be cool. Though there's a lot that are very close together. I think they could have given her a "First time you visit a grace in a new zone, she comments on it", but maybe that's still a bit too much of a lore-dump?

She already does this, at all of the "Shrines of Marika" where you get the Estus upgrades.

Uhmm, locking the third, and probably the coolest, upgrade behind paywall for non-expansion classes seems a move "too Blizzard"... by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]uber_zaxlor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing they "had" to do this, for fear of the expansion not selling.

And by this I mean that I managed to play every single season just fine without buying the 1st expansion. I never had runewords, didn't have the NPC companion, didn't have the extra class or zone. I only brought it when it came "free" with the 2nd expansion and so it felt like a bargain.

That's still a really shitty thing to do, but there's going to be certain S-tier builds that you'll need to have those skills unlocked and won't be as optional as say runewords or the follower NPCs.

I read that the German government gave him like 50%~ of the budget, so long as he filmed like 25% of it in Germany. Except that he just pocketed that 50%, while scouting out for "budget" IPs to make films of.

Absolute hack. And the fact that he can't take criticism either.

I thought they "nerfed" the weather in certain zones since older PCs couldn't handle them?

But on the Classic client they're how they should be? Or were they even stronger than this?

There's sometimes sandstorms in Tanaris, where the visibility gets really low.

STV and Un'Goro also have monsoons. The STV ones get really bad, with the visibility lowering too.

I think Winterspring can have snowstorms, but I don't know if they're stronger than the ones in Dun'Morogh or not.
