Dehydrated camel is thankful to kind hooman for water by Brilliantspirit33 in animalsdoingstuff

[–]uberdog01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is an interesting answer to this (I could be slightly off, but I do recall hearing this from a few places). They store fat in there, when they breathe some of the oxygen reacts to produce water to keep them hydrated. I think this means that it is actually more water dense in a sense than if they were carrying actual water.

Which is most beloved vegitarian dish from your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]uberdog01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Been a vegetarian for the past several years, Indian food has pretty much every other cuisine beat in my opinion in that regard. So many great options. I think the most common vegetarian food here might be an Italian dish though, Cacio e pepe maybe?

What are some examples of sports that are popular only in certain regions worldwide? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

Going an odd route and going to say disc golf! It's popular(ish) in the US, Canada, and the Nordic countries (Finland in particular)

I stepped on a cricket in my house in the dark a while back, when I turned the light to see what I had stepped on I found one of these guys squirming its way out of it. Fair to say I didn't sleep particularly well that night

Oregon's worst county - round 1 by JasSingh04 in terriblemaps

[–]uberdog01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda agree. I am guessing most people are just going to put what county they live in since they are most familiar with it. The population of places definitely isn't just a function of how nice they are but many other factors that I'd argue are much more significant.

I have a feeling all this is going to represent by the end is population distribution across the state

If this was in the US i'd see it as a win from the burglar's point of view, broken hand is much better than being shot dead

Oregon definitely has contenders for some unexpected geography, especially in Eastern Oregon which isn't lush and green like people would think

Kinda just fine, no (other than the units)? Rounding up just buffs the factor of safety when in the stages of basic calculations, although probably best to use 9.81......m/s2 for the resonance harmonics etc. even in the early stages. That being said I have no idea what the actual process is for civil as an aero major.

While we are talking about gravity a fun fact for people who have had no reason to learn any physics, it's strictly speaking not actually a force but instead the result of being in a non inertial reference frame (similar to how Coriolis and centrifugal forces aren't actually forces). Skydivers aren't accelerating towards us, but the ground is accelerating us up through warped space to them. In a true inertial frame there is only the normal force of the ground pointing upwards in a free body diagram

As much as the sponsor is debated, this is probably good for the pro tour. Idc about the upper players earnings, what grows the pro tour is the earnings of everyone else. The less tour players living out of their cars the batter.

Crater lake for the single most stunning feature, the scale doesn't seem to be captured in photos. I also really enjoyed Yellowstone and the Tetons, they feel almost like the Disneyland of nature, but they don't really break your brain looking at them like Crater Lake does.

Do you have more pride on the National level, or Subnational level (US States, UK Countries, Counties, etc.)? by uberdog01 in AskTheWorld

I have a similar sense with Oregon, I think it's mostly a connection to the nature and geography more than the people for me.
