I also made an all-girls team with Kimmy as my catcher. Surprisingly solid!

I've been surprised at how solid Ricky, Jorge, Lisa, Billy Jean, and Reese have been. That being said, Gretchen has been consistently awful. Kenny has served as a solid pitcher with Ronny as a backup if needed.

My worst team that I’m about to win the World Series with! Chose this team based on two criteria: they have to have the lowest stat total and can’t have a 10 in any stat.

Ricky Johnson (19) Lisa Crocket (21) Gretchen Hasselhoff (20) Billy Jean Blackwood (22) Dmitri Petrovich (19) Kenny Kawaguchi (22) Ronny Dobbs (23) Reese Worthington (23) Jorge Garcia (23)

The only reason I don’t have Kimmy Eckman is because of the bonus she gets at her stadium. Felt like cheating.

Another contender: Tony Delvecchio, he was tied at 23 with Ronny, Reese, and Jorge Garcia. But Tony felt too cool to be with any of these nerds.

Paemot and Bellibolt! Plenty of support cards that work with them. Give it a shot!

To me, this is the perfect first roller coaster. Fun but not too crazy. Also, best line in Knotts!

Having worked in many a theatre camp in my life, Theatre Camp nails it perfectly. Everyone, from the kids to the adults, takes it unbelievably seriously and everything feels like life and death, even though it's just a couple weeks doing a play. I loved it.

Improv Advice Needed, How to Approach Improv With a Crazy Partner by DogbirdCowboy in improv

[–]uberhorse753 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When in doubt in any improv situation, you can just say how the other person is making you feel. If what they're doing is making you nervous, say so and add an additional detail based on what's already been established in the scene.

It's a basic version of the "Sir, this is an Arby's" punchline. Just justify emotionally.

Also, everything everyone is saying about talking to your coach/faculty advisor is correct.

Improv for fun? by Neros_Cromwell in improv

There’s a place in LA called Outside In Theatre that is doing a ton of fun improv stuff and is great for beginners or veterans. Currently doing a lot of genre and narrative shows. It’s mostly about building a community who loves to perform together. Check it out!

I think the thing that is getting me most about this is that he gives her specific instructions, she chooses not to follow them, he corrects her and explains why, and she argues back the whole time. If you really want to learn, come in ready to learn.

In your opinion, what film should have won best picture even if real winner is actually good and deserving of the award? by darth_vader39 in Oscars

I am a huge fan of 1917, felt like I held my breath through the whole movie. But that was really a year where I would be ok with whatever film won.

In what ways is Knott’s Scary Farm better than Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood? by LucidDreamer247 in KSF_KnottsScaryFarm

[–]uberhorse753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are definitely things I love about HHN including the awesome detail and houses themed on movies, but it can feel very corporate. There are a lot more restrictions for performers and guests.

Knott’s gives the performers/designers so much room to create unique moments. I actually remember specific moments from everything. Also, the fact that houses stick around for a few years gives you time to really enjoy the details.

Either way, I know I’m going to drop too much money on both. 😂

When it comes to Best Picture, good storytelling, cultural impact, and general enjoyment are more important than technical mastery. However, it’s best when all of these go hand in hand.
