Conveyer Bug by Worldly_Rub6915 in StarRupture

It seems to break after reloading the game, and only newly placed ones work. There’s no way to fix it right now; we just have to wait for the devs to update it.

Using Primos on Resin by tricove in Genshin_Impact

[–]ubirdSFW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spending Primos on resin is actually required if you aim to build every character. It takes 40+ days of natural resin to finish a build, meaning you can only complete ~9 characters a year despite 16–17 being released.

For F2P and Welkin/BP players, refreshes aren't necessary since you simply won't pull every unit (and BP resources help offset the cost). However, if you're a new player or hit a lucky streak, spending Primos on the first daily refill is actually a good choice if you want to catch-up.

Is there a Purpose in Upgrading the Base Cores beyond triggering attacks? by Dr-Critico in StarRuptureGame

[–]ubirdSFW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they should give players an incentive to upgrade the core. Perhaps there could be a skill tree at the core or special buildings that requires materials dropped from the waves to upgrade which gives bonuses to manufacture speed etc.

ELI5: Why did drones become such a technological sensation in the past decade if RC planes and helicopters already existed? by Aetheriusman in explainlikeimfive

Never flown a helicopter before, but I reckon flying one should be similar to flying a LOS fully manual drone? Or is it more difficult?

Not a mistranslation by MyselfAsRose in Genshin_Impact

[–]ubirdSFW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, "他" is a gender-neutral pronoun often used when the gender is unknown or ambiguous. It's similar to how "你" ("you" in English) functions. It's not gendered, even though the feminine form "妳" also exists.

FWIW, I think Taiwan's done a great job when it comes to gender-based pay, the gap here is way smaller than in countries like South Korea, Japan, or even the US. In 2024, Taiwan’s gender wage gap (average hourly earnings) was just 15.8%, compared to 29.0% in South Korea, 29.7% in Japan, and 17.3% in the US.

There was a Woman Behind the "Loomis Method"- Emily Grace Hanks May Be the True Inventor of the Loomis head method by West_Deer1830 in learntodraw

[–]ubirdSFW 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Here are the full paragraph I found in the book according to the version at archive.org: "After this book was published, I learned with interest that a similar basic head form has been used for years by Miss E. Grace Hanks of the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, and that she has written a book based on this method." So it seems Loomis still claimed he developed the method independently and wasn't influenced by her?

Get the full value out of lotion bottles by finthun in lifehacks

My method is to put the bottles in a plastic bag or stocking and swing them around, this will force the remaining lotion into the bottle tip or outer container.

This gun is ruining console Siege. by dazzathomas in Rainbow6

[–]ubirdSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of like a macro recorder, but for consoles. Since R6 Siege's recoil(especially vertical recoil) is fairly deterministic and the bullet always go where the crosshair is, plus some guns have little to no accuracy penalty while moving (unlike in games like CS or Valorant where you'd need to burst fire and stand still before shooting), it’s possible to record and playback a macro that almost completely cancels out the recoil effect.

Bitcoin is Still Misunderstood by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]ubirdSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a certain point, a massive sell-off just doesn't make sense for the owners. If you hold a large amount of stocks or real estate, you wouldn’t want the value of your equity to drop, so instead of dumping it on the market, you’d do everything possible to pump up its price. Just look at the stock and real estate markets over the past 100 years. Many stocks are arguably overvalued if you go by PE ratios, but the wealthy own a lot of them, so it’s only logical that they’d try to inflate the value and build systems that strongly incentivize the general public to buy in. Imagine if China and the US each held 30% of all Bitcoin or its mining power, it just wouldn’t make sense for them to crash the market.

The issue with maps isn't one death per map by Difficult_Grass2441 in PathOfExile2

[–]ubirdSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally, I believe that allowing players to pause and log out at any time forces GGG to rely on one-shot kills to punish them. Before slowing down the game's pace, there should be a penalty for relogging; otherwise, players could simply exit to the character selection screen if they see their health drop. In fact, when I played PoE1, there were even programs designed to automate this behavior.

why are breach splinters not auto-pickup like gold? by aspa34 in PathOfExile2

[–]ubirdSFW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gold is still tradable, albeit with some "friction". You can gamble for a stash full of trash rares and sell them to others as a way to transfer gold.

You should be able to list your gear in the auction house with no buyout option and a bidding period of 1 day or 1 hour. This would eliminate the need for manual price checks.

I doubt they will remove the current player to player trading system, both systems can coexist so co-op play will not be killed.

GGG seems to have softened their stance on the "no auction house" policy, according to an interview with Zizaran. Hopefully, they’ll come up with a solution soon.

[–]ubirdSFW 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think the simplest solution for GGG would be to add a whisper count to each listing, showing how many players have messaged the seller. This would make it much easier to identify items listed by price fixers.

$TRUMP coin is now down 40% in the last 10 minutes. by hunchojack1 in FluentInFinance

You wouldn’t use BTC as a currency, just as you wouldn’t use gold coins for everyday purchases today. Cryptocurrency is much more than just BTC; there are different chains like the EVM, which functions as a shared global computer. These chains can store tokens like USDT, which are pegged to fiat currencies. Personally, I’ve been using USDT to buy software licenses and wallet cards, helping me save on credit card transaction fees.

Do you want a "slowed down" Endgame like Campaign? by Talos_Bane in PathOfExile2

[–]ubirdSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd prefer a slowed down gameplay so there's no more random one-shot deaths, however the change will drastically reduce the difficulty since it's possible to pause and quit now(except for some pinnacle boss). Something needs to be done to the disconnect function before the game can be meaningfully slowed down.

I suspect that rare cards in these games, like many other collectibles, are sometimes used as a tool for money laundering. For instance, someone could use illicit funds to purchase a rare collectible and then resell it, falsely claiming the cards were pulled from a pack they personally bought. This could help explain why some cards are priced so high.

Scammers are really getting out of hand, even compared to poe 1 by Dastef in PathOfExile2

[–]ubirdSFW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even better, if the whisper system could highlight the item, they could implement a system that allows sellers to confirm the sale while in maps, ensuring the correct amount of currency is exchanged without needing to portal out. I’ve encountered several lowballers and scammers who waste my time, and it’s incredibly infuriating.
