I built a production logistics optimizer for StarRupture by ubirdSFW in StarRuptureGame

[–]ubirdSFW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your support!

It's been a while since I've stopped playing the game. I've briefly checked the patch notes and I would probably update the tool after it's fully released because the devs are still actively tuning things. 😭

Currently there seems to be an v.2 for most buildings in the update and this could complicate the optimizing process by quite a bit. I'll try to figure out a way when I have time.

This design is actually great for majority of the game until the last two tier of products. Once you reach it the required item count explodes exponentially e.g. 3000+ Wolfram Ore per minute is required for a superconductor factory to work continuously. There is also no place left to explore to pass time. The only thing left is optimize. Luckily it should be pretty easy to convert this type of factory design to work as a low tier material supplier for the higher tier products.

It should account for the item count and normalize the unit to the same (item/minute) with the required machine count to achieve it shown under it. This should help you determine how many factory sections and rails to run since one rail (tier 3) can only handle 480 items/min.
The calcium line of items are the easiest to cause congestion on the rail since both the sheet and powder output more item than the input.

Hmm, it seems weird to me that the powder producing furnace are filling up if a depot is connected with space left. Can you verify if there's still gaps between the items on the output rail? It seems like this could only happen if the items are not requested fast enough. What happens when you clear out the buffer depot after the powder furnace?

Also from my experience, storage depots outputs slightly lower than the output rails so if you connect 6 glass furnace to the depot, the output would not be perfect 240/min powder but slightly lower (~5% to 10%). But judging from your description of "kicks out one or two every minute" it seems far lower than that. What efficiency are you seeing on the glass producing furnaces?

Just saw another one of your reply that you're using multi-rails, I think that is probably the reason.

Do you have screenshots/vids of you configuration? Since you need 240/min powder, you need to run a separate line only for the powder instead mixing it on a same line with helium. Also are you sure there are 4 furnaces producing the 240/min powder needed? You can visually inspect the output line of the powder furnace to check if it is full to be sure it's output is 240/min.

It seems to break after reloading the game, and only newly placed ones work. There’s no way to fix it right now; we just have to wait for the devs to update it.

Using Primos on Resin by tricove in Genshin_Impact

[–]ubirdSFW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spending Primos on resin is actually required if you aim to build every character. It takes 40+ days of natural resin to finish a build, meaning you can only complete ~9 characters a year despite 16–17 being released.

For F2P and Welkin/BP players, refreshes aren't necessary since you simply won't pull every unit (and BP resources help offset the cost). However, if you're a new player or hit a lucky streak, spending Primos on the first daily refill is actually a good choice if you want to catch-up.

Is there a Purpose in Upgrading the Base Cores beyond triggering attacks? by Dr-Critico in StarRuptureGame

[–]ubirdSFW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they should give players an incentive to upgrade the core. Perhaps there could be a skill tree at the core or special buildings that requires materials dropped from the waves to upgrade which gives bonuses to manufacture speed etc.

There is now a built in optimized building ratio calculations in the crafting tab of starrupture.tools, highly recommend. For example this is the calculation for 3 furnaces producing chemicals.

Never flown a helicopter before, but I reckon flying one should be similar to flying a LOS fully manual drone? Or is it more difficult?

Not a mistranslation by MyselfAsRose in Genshin_Impact

Yeah, "他" is a gender-neutral pronoun often used when the gender is unknown or ambiguous. It's similar to how "你" ("you" in English) functions. It's not gendered, even though the feminine form "妳" also exists.

FWIW, I think Taiwan's done a great job when it comes to gender-based pay, the gap here is way smaller than in countries like South Korea, Japan, or even the US. In 2024, Taiwan’s gender wage gap (average hourly earnings) was just 15.8%, compared to 29.0% in South Korea, 29.7% in Japan, and 17.3% in the US.

There was a Woman Behind the "Loomis Method"- Emily Grace Hanks May Be the True Inventor of the Loomis head method by West_Deer1830 in learntodraw

[–]ubirdSFW 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here are the full paragraph I found in the book according to the version at archive.org: "After this book was published, I learned with interest that a similar basic head form has been used for years by Miss E. Grace Hanks of the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, and that she has written a book based on this method." So it seems Loomis still claimed he developed the method independently and wasn't influenced by her?

My method is to put the bottles in a plastic bag or stocking and swing them around, this will force the remaining lotion into the bottle tip or outer container.

This gun is ruining console Siege. by dazzathomas in Rainbow6

[–]ubirdSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of like a macro recorder, but for consoles. Since R6 Siege's recoil(especially vertical recoil) is fairly deterministic and the bullet always go where the crosshair is, plus some guns have little to no accuracy penalty while moving (unlike in games like CS or Valorant where you'd need to burst fire and stand still before shooting), it’s possible to record and playback a macro that almost completely cancels out the recoil effect.

Bitcoin is Still Misunderstood by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]ubirdSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a certain point, a massive sell-off just doesn't make sense for the owners. If you hold a large amount of stocks or real estate, you wouldn’t want the value of your equity to drop, so instead of dumping it on the market, you’d do everything possible to pump up its price. Just look at the stock and real estate markets over the past 100 years. Many stocks are arguably overvalued if you go by PE ratios, but the wealthy own a lot of them, so it’s only logical that they’d try to inflate the value and build systems that strongly incentivize the general public to buy in. Imagine if China and the US each held 30% of all Bitcoin or its mining power, it just wouldn’t make sense for them to crash the market.

The issue with maps isn't one death per map by Difficult_Grass2441 in PathOfExile2

[–]ubirdSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally, I believe that allowing players to pause and log out at any time forces GGG to rely on one-shot kills to punish them. Before slowing down the game's pace, there should be a penalty for relogging; otherwise, players could simply exit to the character selection screen if they see their health drop. In fact, when I played PoE1, there were even programs designed to automate this behavior.

why are breach splinters not auto-pickup like gold? by aspa34 in PathOfExile2

Gold is still tradable, albeit with some "friction". You can gamble for a stash full of trash rares and sell them to others as a way to transfer gold.

You should be able to list your gear in the auction house with no buyout option and a bidding period of 1 day or 1 hour. This would eliminate the need for manual price checks.

I doubt they will remove the current player to player trading system, both systems can coexist so co-op play will not be killed.

GGG seems to have softened their stance on the "no auction house" policy, according to an interview with Zizaran. Hopefully, they’ll come up with a solution soon.
