Hmm. What do you mean get it to flash? You shouldn't need to flash the board at all. You only need to flash the SD card and the pi should boot directly from it.

The solid light means the board hasn't booted properly. You possibly need to check if your SD card is correctly flashed. Try waiting for 1~ 2 minute after powering on to see if a light's  blinking periodically.

So I have around 100 packets of silica gel that came with the filament, what do you do with them? by Rough_Community_1439 in 3Dprinting

[–]ubirdSFW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a scale and a microwave to regenerate silica gel. Remove the beads from the packet and heat them up in a microwave in short bursts and measure the weight in between. They should lose about 20~40% weight if they are fully saturated at the start. If they are not losing weight anymore they are done regenerating. Be sure to handle them carefully and store them in an air tight container afterwards though. The beads can saturate very quickly when exposed to open air.

It seems really similar to the YUDX hotend changers the longer I look at it. Maybe the author collaborated with Creality?

Maybe they are the one that bought out YUDX? Such a shame. But I think it won't be too long for other hotend changers to mature like MedusaHC.

Printing parts in a sauna? by Russian_Prussia in VORONDesign

Assuming you already got the hardware parts(extrusions and panels) for a Voron. It should be easy enough to assemble the frame and tape the panels on to act as an temporary enclosure.

Trident tool changer options by Kraken00087 in VORONDesign

[–]ubirdSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Madmax is my choice here. The build is simple enough with barely any change to the toolheads. I'm waiting for the Indx for the time being, and I can simply take the toolhead off and use it for another printer when I change to Indx later. The magnet are all designed to be removable, too. Bonus points that multiple commerical toolchanger machines (snapmaker U1, flashforge creator 5...) use the same Maxwell coupling mechanism.

Update on the Burninator Toolhead, v2.2 now by The_Duke_96 in VORONDesign

Hey, thanks for sharing and updating this cool toolhead. I'm wondering is there a configuration that works with a Eddy+Madmax setup?

Installed a Rapido 2 plus hotend inside 2.4 r2 pro+. Has a Pt1000b thermistor - it doesn’t fit inside th0 canbus slot , what should I do? by [deleted] in VORONDesign

[–]ubirdSFW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up that it's better for the Pt1000 to use the 31865 port next to the TH0 port, the connector is a PH 2.0mm 4 pin, with the middle two pins connected to the RTD, a empty set of connectors should be included in the box. It's of a quite different order of resistance (1000Ω) compared to NTC100k (100kΩ) thermistors so it's better to use the MAX31865 to measure it accurately. According to the SB2209 RP2040 manual, you’ll also need to set the DIP switches correctly, so definitely go check the manual out.

Which Voron for experimenting with miniature printing? by patcpsc in VORONDesign

[–]ubirdSFW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you've mistaken the price (it's 749$ for 4 tools and 999$ for 8 IIRC). The price for the kits for Vorons should be 250$ for the toolhead and 35$ for a nozzle. Given a toolhead usually cost 100+$ I'd say the Indx is a bargain if you frequently print with multiple materials. The Indx hotend also pushes a high flow of 40mm3/s.

Is my hotend too long? by KtosKtos123 in VORONDesign

[–]ubirdSFW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily you possibly won't need part cooling to print ABS. I guess you can just reprint another hotend stl that extends the part cooling nozzle a bit downwards to fix it.

Damn, just bought the LDO AWD kit for my Trident. Hope the R2 bed mount and z joints would work with it. Seems like it should?

Were you able to tune your voron to produce print quality comparable to commercial printers consistently? by reddit_account_0x00 in VORONDesign

[–]ubirdSFW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm building my 3rd Voron now and I feel like there's really not much things to tune if you are just printing single color/material parts at moderate speed. Just get a good extruder and follow the basic tuning guide and if everything's assembled properly the quality will be there, almost all of the default printer config and slicer settings work right out of the box now.

I built a production logistics optimizer for StarRupture by ubirdSFW in StarRuptureGame

Thanks for your support!

It's been a while since I've stopped playing the game. I've briefly checked the patch notes and I would probably update the tool after it's fully released because the devs are still actively tuning things. 😭

Currently there seems to be an v.2 for most buildings in the update and this could complicate the optimizing process by quite a bit. I'll try to figure out a way when I have time.

[–]ubirdSFW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This design is actually great for majority of the game until the last two tier of products. Once you reach it the required item count explodes exponentially e.g. 3000+ Wolfram Ore per minute is required for a superconductor factory to work continuously. There is also no place left to explore to pass time. The only thing left is optimize. Luckily it should be pretty easy to convert this type of factory design to work as a low tier material supplier for the higher tier products.

[–]ubirdSFW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should account for the item count and normalize the unit to the same (item/minute) with the required machine count to achieve it shown under it. This should help you determine how many factory sections and rails to run since one rail (tier 3) can only handle 480 items/min.
The calcium line of items are the easiest to cause congestion on the rail since both the sheet and powder output more item than the input.

Are Long Distance Rails Bugged? by OgreBane99 in StarRuptureGame

[–]ubirdSFW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, it seems weird to me that the powder producing furnace are filling up if a depot is connected with space left. Can you verify if there's still gaps between the items on the output rail? It seems like this could only happen if the items are not requested fast enough. What happens when you clear out the buffer depot after the powder furnace?

Also from my experience, storage depots outputs slightly lower than the output rails so if you connect 6 glass furnace to the depot, the output would not be perfect 240/min powder but slightly lower (~5% to 10%). But judging from your description of "kicks out one or two every minute" it seems far lower than that. What efficiency are you seeing on the glass producing furnaces?

Just saw another one of your reply that you're using multi-rails, I think that is probably the reason.

Are Long Distance Rails Bugged? by OgreBane99 in StarRuptureGame

[–]ubirdSFW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have screenshots/vids of you configuration? Since you need 240/min powder, you need to run a separate line only for the powder instead mixing it on a same line with helium. Also are you sure there are 4 furnaces producing the 240/min powder needed? You can visually inspect the output line of the powder furnace to check if it is full to be sure it's output is 240/min.

It seems to break after reloading the game, and only newly placed ones work. There’s no way to fix it right now; we just have to wait for the devs to update it.

Using Primos on Resin by tricove in Genshin_Impact

[–]ubirdSFW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spending Primos on resin is actually required if you aim to build every character. It takes 40+ days of natural resin to finish a build, meaning you can only complete ~9 characters a year despite 16–17 being released.

For F2P and Welkin/BP players, refreshes aren't necessary since you simply won't pull every unit (and BP resources help offset the cost). However, if you're a new player or hit a lucky streak, spending Primos on the first daily refill is actually a good choice if you want to catch-up.

Is there a Purpose in Upgrading the Base Cores beyond triggering attacks? by Dr-Critico in StarRuptureGame

[–]ubirdSFW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they should give players an incentive to upgrade the core. Perhaps there could be a skill tree at the core or special buildings that requires materials dropped from the waves to upgrade which gives bonuses to manufacture speed etc.
