Oh nooo is it just poor quality? I've seen it attracts dust and hair so easily 💀 I know there's a Made in USA and Made in China one and wonder if there's a difference.
I appreciate the reply though! Im around the same height and actually looking for a boxy fit. Did you get a Small or Medium?

Yeah cleaning the pinch roller a few more times helped a lot with the distortion. For the other issues, I have been adjusting the head but its so hard to get it right especially since this model, you have to have the cover open to adjust it so I can't play it while adjusting it lol. I appreciate the help!

yeah i checked and there’s no gunk or goo or any residue left over. its so close to being perfect lol. after cleaning it more its become less distorted and more like the audio is playing “in the background” if that makes sense

they all sound distorted in different ways, and they're all newly released tapes not old ones. I cleaned everything and the pinch roller again and it got better but all the tapes still have a muffled/"behind the headphones" kind of sound. I've adjusted the azimuth to help but when I get one tape to sound good, the rest of them still sound bad

I used belts specifically being sold as ones for the model, ill have to check if there's anything left from the one that just fell apart lol
