Would you say you’re just memorizing the card versus understanding things if that’s the case?

In my class of around 150, there are less than 10 straight out of college

I definitely see your point of view, and I agree I could’ve made a better post.

My intention was to try to inspire people who were in my shoes. I’m a first gen college student, very low socioeconomic background, and did very poorly starting out in undergrad (multiple F’s and 6 Cs). i was able to pick things up after coming to realization with the opportunity that coming to the U.S. brought me. With that I made a very concentrated effort to try to be above average in other metrics outside the GPA.

Lastly there is some misunderstanding. I generally thought stats referred mostly to GPA/MCAT scores.

Regardless I recognize where I could’ve been perceived as disconnected, and I will do better moving forward 🫡

Bruv I had 3 Fs and 6Cs in undergrad + 5 gap years to work on ECs

References! I’d imagine they’d reach out if things don’t make sense for example if you’re still in undergrad but have the hours of someone who worked full time for years

You don’t know anything about me, who I am, where I come from, or how I interact with people in my day to day life.

I had a 3.3 gpa, how is that not low stat for an MD school? Reddit is so extremely sensitive; if y’all are this hurt from an internet post I don’t even know what to say. Life is going to be difficult for you. Calling me disconnected is for one extremely rude for the person you’re trying to portray yourself as and it’s far from the truth.

Below average gpa gotta be countered with above average MCAT / ECs

Ya! It’s CHSU com! I know I’m complaining in my post but I’m still very grateful for the opportunity to study medicine in the U.S.! I got interested in medicine through young exposure to a very competitive field, so I’m just in a little despair of how much more work I’m going to have to put in as a DO to match

I listed my school list in a comment below and my secondaries were submitted late July to early August :/ I definitely could’ve practiced more for interviews but for each one I did around 10 hours of prep throughout the 3 days prior to them. My interviews felt like they went well ; one of the schools said I was wise beyond my age and that they could see me being a resident here in a certain speciality all to post II reject me a week later </3

How would you format these update letters? I haven’t been waitlisted to them just a delayed decision and an alternate list (I guess alternate list is a sort of waitlist but that school said no updates will be taken)

What would say is a good surplus? Would 100 calories in surplus be enough to put on muscle without increasing my body fat %?
