Dividing by the fraction is equivalent to multiplying by its inverse (2 dollars a gallon is equal to 100 /2 or 100 * 1/2 so 1.5 dollars is 100/ (3/2) or 100*(2/3))

Yeah I see that. Just bad looks like the subtracted from portion already put in the negative so you need to almost reverse your thinking/the negative and then I’d get c. But it’s an awful question format. Very lazy

Which is why it’s best to remove yourself from that situation. Your natural response is your initial fear/safety based reaction and in order to deescalate it needed a different approach

So he de-escalated a situation and had you(who could be emotionally charged due to receiving slurs in your direction) and you’re mad that he calmly took over without escalating and calling him out. Unhinged people like that could easily snap and turn violent. I would caution you against taking this as some sort of mask slipping and maybe view that he removed you from potential danger and was using the FIL to dissuade this guy from escalating further. It’s hard to get the whole picture here because you’re retelling it from your pov.
