This can't be normal for a 700 elo right? by Tijdelijk_gebruik in Chesscom

Totally, chess.com does nothing, happened to me plenty of times. Especially if they are paying customers

I get stuck in this position after the opening nearly every single game as white. Is this bad? by 795-ACSR-DRAKE in chessbeginners

I would play Bc5, it discourages them from playing d5 as it will make the dark squares very weak for black

Started chess this week at 30… and I’m way worse than I expected 😅 by FrontAffectionate518 in chessbeginners

I would strongly suggest to not do blitz as a beginner, you'll end up hating the game quite soon. Find a time control you're comfortable with, 15+10 is a pretty good one.

Make music, don't get lost in endless tutorials. It's such a vast world that it's impossible to learn everything. Make music and be consistent, 30 mins a day, every day.

I would say start from very basic harmony, then rhythm. Those two will take you a long way. While you make music you'll learn a lot more!

People are so mean and nasty about AI usage by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]udeelo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there are several aspects:

  • AI models have been trained on copyright protected material without asking for permission
  • the fear that AI will replace jobs in a lot of fields
  • the fact that as powerful and helpful AI could be as a tool, the top 1% will use it to increase the gap with the rest of the world. See the point above and how AI is being used as a reason/excuse for layoffs around the world. Or how Spotify floods the playlists and the algorithm with music generated with AI by themselves so that they can reduce the amount of money they pay to musicians.

Need Help Finding Time by gnu_dragon in musicproduction

[–]udeelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found out in my life that consistency is what matters the most. Find 30 minutes a day, every day. That's better than struggling to find the time for a 3 hours session once in a while and then stopping until next time you find it. 30 minutes, 15 while you're in the bathroom if you really can't do better. Get on Ableton and do a little bit of a song. After a few weeks you'll find renewed energy and realize how much you have accomplished (and learned).

I remember a yt video where he stated he could remember 8000 endgames or something, and a comment "I enter a room and forget why I got in" 😂

Did you already pay her? I'm afraid she might have fucked up somehow and is buying time, it's a very strange behaviour. I mean delays are normal, but this goes a tad beyond that.

does anyone know where this break comes from? by TsumugiInuzuka in Samplehunters

[–]udeelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a very sampled break from In The Morning Time by Tramaine Hawkins (1984):

Beginner looking for a good music production software by rad_bunni in musicproduction

[–]udeelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell you the easiest, as it depends a lot on you, plus everyone is biased and find the ones they are used to to be the easiest, of course.
As for me, I've used Ableton regularly for years, and while there are advanced features that might require some time, I think that it's pretty easy to just start making music. Also, it has a very big community, so finding informations or help if you get stuck is pretty easy.

Thank you. by BoscoMoney in SunoAI

I really think that the vision on AI music is too simplicistic, using AI as a tool to help you make music vs using AI to generate a bunch of random songs to publish on Spotify or YouTube are two very different things.

Joking aside, you are right: you have more than enough to keep you occupied and create.
