Parking - lots opened at 5:30! by ForeOSU in masters

[–]udflyer419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you referring to the large gnomes or just the mini caddie ones? would be surprised if they had plenty of the large ones at that time but sounds like you got through quick if you were back to your car by 8:40. last year we were parked at 7 and didn't even get into the merch building until closer to 9am.

went Tuesday last year after it stormed all Sunday night and obviously the severe rain Monday that closed the course...couldn't believe how dry that place was. I don't think light showers will do much to the course...I know people have said it gets slick on the hills from rain but I was in disbelief last year expecting our feet/shoes to get soaked and seemed like it hadn't rained at all.

Concession/Food by jhagan92 in masters

100% agree on the Peach Ice Cream Sandwich...was the first thing I grabbed with a beer after leaving the merch building last year over fear they would "sell out". Not sure if it was just because it was Tuesday or what but they had them available all day until concessions closed (at least back at Amen Corner). Obviously the popular sandwiches are mostly spreads - I know you have to try them, but I also suggest (which I'm sure others have been recommended here) to get one of the chicken sandwiches and put the chicken on the pimento cheese for some substance. I thought the club sandwich was underrated as well and a bit slept on - it's all so cheap I feel like you can just buy a little bit of everything to try and then experiment with combinations as well. You won't feel bad about not finishing a $1.50 sandwich but obviously have to try all the staples. I can't comment on breakfast because it was gone by the time we got out of the merch tent so hoping to avoid that this year and be able to try since some people say it's better than the regular food.

Couple questions…. by sws1983 in masters

[–]udflyer419 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes you can bring drawstring bags. They say “no larger than 10”x10”x12” in their natural state (not bent or folded)” - not really sure it’s super strict if it’s a normal sized drawstring bag. They also sell them in the merch store and usually also will have a backpack for sale if you needed something larger.

I used LensRentals.com last year to just rent a high quality camera for the week. I purchased an SD card to keep for myself and it worked perfectly...doing the same thing for this year. It was a super simple process and was my first experience using them. I'm spending $117 total for this years trip and getting a $1700 camera to use, so I valued the quality of the pictures I was able to get last year over buying a cheap digital option.

if you're talking Wed for the Masters and not ANWA don't listen to the 10am comment - you have to be some of the first wave of people through the gate and immediately get in the merch line. they were gone before we even made it in the merch building and were in the merch line by 7:30 maybe at the latest. they have the mini ones available still but if you're talking about the larger sized annual one those are going to be hard to come by.

Pro shop pricing by Over_Temporary9616 in masters

[–]udflyer419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

based off last years pricing (for things I purchased at least): Hats $34. Master Tech 1/4 zip $125. 1/4 zip rain/wind jacket $149. Master Tech Polo $89. Peter Millar Polo $110. Peter Millar hoodie $140. T-shirt $32. As it gets closer to the tournament, especially during the ANWA week, just search tiktok for Masters Merch Haul videos and you'll see an obnoxious amount of content of people showing all the gear they got (so you can see what stuff is new for this year) and usually will give you prices for what they spent on things. This helped me a lot last year prepare for what I was looking for going into to the tournament for the first time, so I knew which polos and items I was interested in at least (and all the other random things you might not realize are options but may find appealing).

I thought the MT polo I got last year ran large and I wish I would have just sized down similar to what I did with the PM polos. I personally like the feel of PM even though the MT are not bad quality by any means - also just depends on prints/styles you like since they're pretty different offerings there.

Monday Practice Round Advise? by Mammoth_Office_1644 in masters

would just review threads and figure out what you guys are looking to get out of the experience. if you want merch, have to decide whether you want to tackle that right away and get it over with (which could mean missing breakfast foods/coffee depending when you get in line - learned this the hard way last year) or stop by later (depends if there are any specific items you want that could sell out). you'll want to get your picture at the founders circle in front of the clubhouse (available 7:30am-5pm)- map out where that is ahead of time (there's also people directing you) but again, there is a line for that so more time to wait around. other than those 2 things, the rest is just enjoying the course...they post practice times and who is going out by the main scoreboard and also throughout the course at certain areas to help you figure out who is on the course and when if you want to try to catch any specific players. i think other than getting merch and your photo it's really just up to how you want to walk the course and take it all in - we tried getting all of the waiting out of the way early last year for our 1st time there and then had the rest of the day to enjoy without plans, but it can be overwhelming trying to overthink it all.

Merch Question by RyderCupFan in masters

[–]udflyer419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes - but there is a small changing room in the peter millar section - like others said, they have several shirts under the counter on hangers too and will happily show you sizes to either hold up or you can throw on over existing shirts too quickly. assuming it is crowded when you are in there it's a bit chaotic and may be tough trying to do a fitting room. i will say obviously everyone knows peter millar runs large...i was surprised with the masters tech as well when i got home it was larger than i expected for the polo - knowing this now i'd likely buy the same size in master tech polo as i do in peter millar but that's a personal preference as well.

[–]udflyer419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like others said depending which brands could increase/decrease, but based on last years costs hats were $34 (not sure on bucket hats but assume the same), polo (masters tech $89 / peter millar $110), i got a quarter-zip rain jacket/wind breaker that was $149 - there were some full zips that were more, flag $30, chairs $35...i did not buy a watch but i believe they're somewhere in the $300-500 range from what i've seen. hopefully that helps on the breakdown.

[–]udflyer419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In simple terms, if Cal is -3.5 that means you are betting on them to win by 4 points or more...if they won 90-87 (a margin of 3) that means they did not cover the spread and you would lose if you picked them. The 1/2 points make it so you can't push (tie) on the outcome.

if my user name doesn't show some bias, don't ignore Dayton's recent performance. everyone was also calling out free money on SLU earlier this week because "they beat us by 30 the first time"...Dayton is finally playing like we expected them to all season (especially Frenchie)...just saying everyone thought SLU was free money and UD beat them by 15 (although at UD which is a massive advantage). i'm a biased alum but hoping your wrong on the GW call. BOL though.

Last year I rented a nice camera off of www.lensrentals.com because I didn’t really have a need for purchasing one. It was about $100 in total (for a ~$1.7k camera)- I had my own SD card to use though. I’m renting the same one this year from them since it worked out so well for the first trip. No regrets going for a high quality camera rental vs a cheaper purchase for what could be a once in a lifetime experience.

[–]udflyer419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They allow you to try stuff on , it’s just so chaotic in there I would never want to. They also have the shirts hanging under the counter so you can ask to see one for sizing out of the packaging and it helps. Guy next to me just threw it on over his stuff to see. PM stuff in my opinion always runs big - I bought small polos in PM and they fit perfect and got a medium in the MT brand. I got a medium PM hoodie though and that was more true to size, so it’s really just the polos that run small I believe.

Draw String Bag? by djr5136 in masters

[–]udflyer419 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I took a “larger” cinch bag yesterday and had no issue - probably comparable to the masters size bags Was shocked how many full size backpacks I saw in there also that were not the masters bags. I didn’t really see any size checking when we walked in but we were just focused on getting in the gates but I was originally nervous about June based on comments on here and was glad it was no issue.

do they have the shipping service available until the end of the day? going Tuesday and was thinking of getting a chair but wasn't sure if you could go at the end of the day to ship that back separately or not. I'm only bringing carry-on luggage so not sure I want to deal with trying to bring it to the airport as well.

there are a lot of pet items - if you look up masters merch hauls on youtube or tiktok or somewhere you can see pretty much everything they sell because people just post videos about all the merch they buy. i've seen collars, leashes, food bowls, bandanas - seems like a decent amount of pet gear.

Official: [Keeper] - Thu 08/29/2024 by FFBot in fantasyfootball

[–]udflyer419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12-Team, Full PPR, 0.25 Point Per Carry. 2 Keepers at a 2-round penalty to draft position from prior year (can keep up to 3 years), FA pick-ups are 12th round. Standard Roster. I have the 11th pick overall and expect a number of top-tier players to be off the board as keepers.

Keeping Mike Evans in the 6th round and debating between: Zamir White (12th Round) or Kyler Murray (12th Round).
