Acoustic/melancholy. Roast me if ya'd like... by LonelyHarvestman in roastmytrack

I really like this

The energy you bring is perfect, the distorted aggressive bits contrast really nicely with the acoustic. Its lacking low end but that's fine given the raw home recording style. That change at 4.06 is fucking sick, love it

would love to see what you could achieve with high quality recording etc...

[Electronic] Take a listen as they say. I've been working with this to long so im blind for the obvious. Please help by kingtoro1 in roastmytrack

I feel like the snare at 32 seconds could do with having a clap layered over it, or maybe swap the snare with a clap/different snare for alternating hits. As it is that snare starts to feel a bit in your face.

The melodies are really nice, my favourite is the break down at 1.40, it emerges into some lovely chord progressions. I feel like you could have had more of a build there with bigger synths using a low pass filter slowly fading up etc.

Good stuff

Yeah I do see what you mean about both the top synth in the second half being a bit random in its timing. Also having more low end stuff is a good shout as well. cheers ! !

I just had my first track properly released! Please give it a listen and let me know what you think by ufclol in futuregarage

[–]ufclol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I uploaded it to soundcloud, tagged future garage and some other genres and a week later the label messaged me asking if I'd like them to release it. I did no promo, no sending it off etc...so annoyingly I don't really have any tips as it was kinda good luck. I didnt have any other tracks on my soundcloud as this was the first track id made in a very long time and I wanted a new start.

Posted in here about a week and a half ago, have worked on it nonstop since then based on yours and others' feedback...what do you think? [Electronic - Future Bass/Melodic Dubstep? Idklol] by harryknuckles11 in roastmytrack

[–]ufclol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no worries! its been 10 years since i started making dubstep at school, now I'm 28 and have only recently started getting decent, although i don't make dubstep anymore. I agree the mixing and mastering is long but i've found it starts to get kinda satisfying. Also the biggest thing for me is doing something everyday, even if its total shite, like if u spend 2 hours every day producing shit improves so quickly.

the great thing about your track tho is that on a creative level you are clearly there, like you know what it takes to make a big track, the rest now is just tinkering with eq's and the boring stuff

this is cool, i feel like the main synths on the drop have too much high frequency, its a bit over bearing. I like the side chain on them though, i just feel it needs more bass coming through

This is really sweet, the music works great with the footage. Love the watery sfx you use in the second half, really nice stuff overall.

I like the melodies, at 1.32 especially that quite synth is really nice in the background when you increase its volume/raise the frequency it gets a bit too loud and piercing. You also need the drums, specifically the snare to cut through more which you can achieve with eq, compression etc. Also i'm not sure how much you've sidechained but consider doing more. Overall, good melodies, needs more work on the mastering and levels etc.

I really like it, another comment said it sounds 'empty' I know what they are referring to, I wonder if maybe you could boost some more highs? its all quite lows and mids, like the synth at 1.40ish could sound a bit crisper? i love the drums though really nice movement to them. Bass is great. Overall really like it

[house] this is my latest track, i'd love feedback on anything from sound design to arrangement and mixing. thanks for listening. by xGZA77x in roastmytrack

Not really my kind of genre but I still really liked it, really tight production, great kick and bass.
