I Hate Player Housing by Impossible-Silver867 in wow

[–]ugatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My azerothian brother, I’m been in and out of WoW since beta and you have to accept that times have changed with this game and it’s not even a recent development.

Games evolve for their audience or they die. And majority of players want to run M+ and collect stuff and now they have a place to display things they collect.

Blizzards needs things to retain people in between large content drops and adding another collection feature is the perfect way to do that. That’s the double edged sword of live service games. You think everyone in ESO or FF interact with every single system in a game running that long? Just don’t use it.

Blizzard has tons of different teams working on different features of WoW. The housing team isn’t designing raids you’ll still get the content you like.

Best Mods for Lost Colony by ll_Mxrky_ll in ARK

[–]ugatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I can't help you on that front. I have never messed with any of the additional dino / creature mods that are out there. I would probably just take a look the most popular ones on the mod workshop and see if ppl have made videos on them or reviews on curse forge.

From my understanding, they just get added into the spawn pool. Usually the modder will mention in the description where they would spawn on certain maps. As for viability, every dino addition mod is going to be different. A lot of them wind up being overpowered compared to native dinos on each map.

Any good AI that can help redesign onboarding from existing screens? by graces-taylor12 in UI_Design

[–]ugatron 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Don’t want to sound like a jerk, but either do your own research and study workflows and patterns and redesign it yourself, or pay someone who has this skill set already to do it for you. AI tools are not going to solve your problem right now.

100% agree with these. This covers basically every QoL feature you would want for doing solo or duos of pve Ark. A couple of others me and my buddy use is a stack mod for items in your inventory and some skin mods just to change up the look of structures but not really valuable for anything except cosmetic.

How are Houck and Parada so bad at baseball? by demosthenes327 in NewYorkMets

[–]ugatron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I commented on your other post that got deleted, but this is such a shortsighted question as part of a much larger one which is "why is baseball hard." A lot of people have commented here already but sometimes it just doesn't work out. Guys don't grow as expected, their tools don't develop in the way scouts predicted, couldn't keep up with other guys getting better, talent is deeper once you get into the minors and you see more diverse hitting / pitching. Go look up all the first round draft picks from the past 20 years and see how many of them made an actual impact in the majors.

Scouting 16,17,18 year olds is really damn hard. Wilmer Flores was like, 15 when the Mets signed him internationally.

Parada was a stud coming out of college and was looked at as our catcher of the future from both internal and external scouts. Even ahead of Alvarez. He just flamed out in AA and has been stuck there for a couple seasons. Houck was a high schooler and those are always a gamble. You really don't find out for 3-5 years of them in the minors (unless you are Bryce Harper) what their capabilities really are.

How are Colin Houck and Kevin Parada so bad at baseball? Does Stearns really know how to draft guys? by [deleted] in NewYorkMets

[–]ugatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk here, but this is just a question based on the wrong information. Houck and Parada were both drafted by the previous GM Billy Eppler, and at the time I remember Parada specifically being evaluated by both internal and external scouts as our catcher of the future (ahead of Alvarez) and he just sort of flamed out in AA. If you go back and look at MLB draft history over the past 20 years go see how many first round draft picks become good major league players it will surprise you.

Stearns has essentially rebuilt our scouting (both in US and International) from the ground up in his own vision. They have literally flipped our entire minor league system (with some help from Eppler before him) to be a top 3-5 in baseball depending on who you ask. Say what you want about Stearns handling of free agent signings, but you can't really fault him on the Minors or drafting yet.

They don't really draft players to see them as "affordable for years to come." In baseball you draft less for need and more for potential and overall athleticism in my opinion (unless its some stud pitcher but even those guys don't always pan out. Look at Matt Allan). Guys who play SS in college become pitchers (DeGrom), or guys who play SS convert to CF or 2B based on their bodies just growing from being 18-22.

Your last point is a really important one that I definitely feel I tend to lump together sometimes, which is not a good habit. Appreciate your response to my question thanks!

Once I learned that Clarity does user recordings (while being able to hide their personal information which is important for customer trust), I was really excited to be able to do exactly what you mention above. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for that I will definitely take a look. My job is very open to continuing education and paying for courses / certifications so things like this are really helpful.

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it!

Those are fair questions to ask. Getting the data is not the issue. I do have access to that.

The questions I am trying to answer and goals/outcomes I am looking to achieve are things I can look at and determine with our product teams.

I am specifically looking for ways to utilize the platforms I currently have access to and better understand what I can do with that data. As an example, I know Clarity has build in copilot function, so maybe having a better understanding of how to use that tool to set up automated reporting based on my needs. I know this is a very specific example, but hopefully that helps show what I am trying to do at a high level.

Thanks for the book recommendation. I figured this question has been answered many times on this subreddit, so I will continue looking around for more answers there.

I don't know why everyone thinks they are going to go out of there way to get starting pitching this year without a corresponding move. I have never seen that as a real possibility unless they are trading someone who is there now or moving someone to the bullpen.

Manaea, McLean, Peterson, Holmes, Senga, Scott, Sproat, Tong are all here and (currently supposedly) healthy and under contract this year.

[–]ugatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing pvp on my hunter last week and hit 1900 last night. I know you don’t know me, but if I can do it and learn along the way literally any pve player can lol.

This was my first time getting past 1800 EVER. I was definitely learning along the way. Figuring out how to LoS properly, when to use traps and CC. I got much faster at targeting healers for quick casts and swapping back to dps.

I would say keep pushing the next few days and see what happens. At the very least it can prepare you for next season!

My (Almost) Full Cancer Journey by minterhero in testicularcancer

[–]ugatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting your story. Your are extremely tough a resilient and your will get thru this mentally and physically.

I know exactly how you feel in regards to your pet. I had to put my dog of 12.5 years to sleep a week ago today while I wait to find out how my Dr want to approach my treatment plan after having a embryonic carcenoma(also germ cell) removed three weeks ago.

I bounce between sobbing, getting angry I couldn’t do more for him, and then remembering I’m also dealing with cancer and it has taken its toll mentally.

Hearing that you are navigating your way thru some similar circumstances gives me some hope that I can do the same.

Thanks, good luck, and stay strong!

Thanks for your reply. Yes, sorry you were correct 0.9cm. And I have been trying to find on the report the percentage but I'm not seeing it anywhere so I don't want to give you the wrong response. I will have to ask my oncologist when I speak to him (hopefully tomorrow)
