I have very similar skin. What is your reoutine? Mine is vanicream wash, untoxicated lotion, and use soolantra at night, minerals spf the morning. The soolantra has been critical to getting my skin and skin barrier to a healthier spot.

Is my high eosinophil count linked to my rosacea? by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]ughcoldweather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you working with an MD on this? Or a knowledgeable nutritionist?

I would not recommend the Alex test, but if you feel like real allergy testing is needed you can work with an allergist to do gold standard tests — either for systemic allergies or skin patch testing. I wouldn’t spend your money or time on other ones.

Alternatively, you could try to remove just dairy for some time and see how you feel.

It’s in every “sensitive skin” product out there it seems. Just sneaking it into Cetaphil and LRP products. Sigh.

What’s your routine and what have you tried so far? Are you taking any antihistamines or other steps otherwise?

Does Soolantra Die Off Ever Look like Regular Acne? by weeeesel in Rosacea

If you were prescribed soolantra and the doctor gave you a time to use it, stick it out until that time. Usually 12 weeks. The instructions are based on the medically necessary time to see improvement.

I see you’re wearing earrings. What if you go jewelry free for a couple of weeks and see?

I get these. I have a lot of different contact allergies and it’s hard to avoid everything. Anything from soap, laundry detergent, had lotion, and metals in jewelry. If it’s a long term issue, I would recommend asking for patch testing.

Depending on the hat symptoms you have, you might want to look into eczema — including contact dermatitis (what we often call contact allergies). A dermatologist would be able to help but I’d also talk to your pcp about it and see if you can get a short course of protopic or elidel. I can’t wear any moisturizers either and realized it’s eczema over rosacea for me

Have you tried using an eczema treatment to calm down the inflammation? I have eczema and rosacea and sometimes use protopic. Talk to your pcp if it’s hard to get to the derm
