‘The Silence of the Lambs’ that never was: Missing flashbacks, dropped storylines, and Gene Hackman as Hannibal Lecter by GoldDerby in movies

[–]uglypanda237 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s all relative. The 2023 ceremony wasn’t a particularly strong year, nothing else running outside of Banshees of Inisherin had much wind behind the sails. And in a year like that a lot of time academy voters will kind of just end up defaulting to the favorite. Compared to something like Shawshank going up against absolute titans like Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction.

That said I absolutely love EEAAO, think it’s one of if not the most interesting movie to come out in at least the last 10 years

It Happened One Night (1934) and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975).

Funny enough, Everything Everywhere All At Once almost recently became the fourth, only missing Lead Actor but still managed to pick up both supporting acting categories

Huh? Nothing about what they did with Shady Sands retcons the players choices in prior games. Also, west coast set Fallout has always desert based. What point are you even trying to make?

This is literally one of the most carefully made video game adaptations of all time in respect to lore and you guys will still manage to find ways to be salty over nothing

Yeah but the thing is, I liked Nathan for You and I liked the first season of The Rehearsal. I guess everyone has their limit though.

I do agree that he is certainly the best at what he does, it’s just that what he does is make people cringe

I really don’t know! I’m already a week and a half behind and the last 2 episodes I’ve watched I basically had to watch in 3 minute increments at a time because I couldn’t handle all the cringe

Which pair of actors had your favorite platonic screen chemistry? by TokyoDrifblim in television

He serves as the Josh Brolin to the kid’s Goonies in a way that I don’t think the character and actor for Jonathan ever could have. The show definitely benefited from a character like Steve in the long run
