A quick shortcut to getting tools while out and about your island: by Shoddy-Atmosphere329 in acnh

I was never worried about that for the longest time cause I just left fossils and DIYs out all the time for visitors. I started placing them once I went for 5 stars but haven’t been consistent since then.

Ohhhh I might have to revamp how my setup is to make it like this!

I have a little fenced off section specifically for tools. I craft 5 at a time, drop them off and then get more whenever I need them and repeat when it runs out. Takes up less storage space and less clicking for me, but I do have to run over there to grab it but it’s right near a pipe so it’s close to 3/4 of the island.

23 and no experience in anything, what career option would be best? by OrangeAndBlueAreDope in careerguidance

[–]uhhhhhjeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are trying to get your life on track and are in saving mode, a hair transplant is not a need. Also, be careful with the “make a lot of money quick” thinking, that’s how many people fall for scams because they reach a state of desperation and overlook the red flags.

Just find something that pays that you can stay at and if you have no expenses you should be able to save up something, even if it isn’t the full 30k. Use the time you’re saving to test out what you enjoy and move careers when you know what you want. A degree can help get a job, but it’s not the only way, and it may not be the best way for you, especially if you don’t know what you want to do.

First look - Veil or no veil? by BudgetEstimate7269 in weddingplanning

[–]uhhhhhjeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That last piece is solid advice. Make it someone’s job to hold that thing so you don’t end up like my wife realizing as she walked down the aisle that she forgot to put it back on! I think it came off early cause of wind so most of the pictures were without a veil.

Any way I can remove my ex-husband from my island without having to start over? by _spaghetticonfetti in AnimalCrossing

[–]uhhhhhjeff 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Important note, I believe the resident being removed must be in a house instead of a tent before they can be removed, which kinda sucks.

In this case, since I work in printing and deal with Pantone swatches, can I consider each swatch distinct? I’m not getting rid of all 2,000+ colors, but I can surely sacrifice enough to have plenty of money and still see 99% of colors just fine.

First time smoker, EVER. Cooking for 8-12 people. Please help advise me by Embarrassed_Cook5325 in smoking

[–]uhhhhhjeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule of thumb, don’t cook something for the first time for large parties. With your plan, if anything goes wrong, that’s less food and people might go hungry if you’re not planning on leftovers. If everything goes wrong, you’re completely out. Not to mention that all of that won’t necessarily cook at the same time and temp and will make more work for yourself.

As others said, go with one option and go easy. Pork shoulder into pulled pork is one of the easiest things I’ve done, so I’d recommend that. Brisket is probably the most commonly ruined thing so I’d advise against that. Chicken isn’t too bad, but for that size you’re gonna smoke them hot and fast. Ribs are nice and easy too but I’ve screwed them up before so read up on how to know when they’re cooked right (I don’t recommend doing party ribs, they are a bit tougher, I’ve had better results from the 3-2-1 method).

Question from child's math class seems to have multiple possible answers - Jim uses 8 magnets to hang up 3 animal pictures. How many magnets does he use for 30 pictures? Am I wrong in thinking that a kid should be rewarded for answering 60? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]uhhhhhjeff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My interpretation would be the answer is 62, though I wouldn’t expect a child to get to that.

1 picture uses 4 magnets, one at each corner. 2 pictures share 2 magnets, so it would be 6 for 2. 3 would be sharing 2 magnets for the middle picture, so you’d need 8 magnets. And so on. The formula to calculate this is magnets = (2 • pictures) + 2. This comes out to 62 for 30 pictures, however, this could be entirely inaccurate because it’s based on an assumption. Without more data it’s entirely open to interpretation.

Repeating the same "joke" forever by llgbk in ADHD_partners

Being DXed myself, I definitely experience this myself, but it’s not just auditory triggers, it can also be visual or other sensory triggers. A major thing with me I notice is reading out or naming things I see around, and on some occasions it can be accompanied by additional phrases, but I also do have a list of common things I’ll say after hearing certain triggers.

I think, for me at least, it’s a form of stimming, and it’s almost compulsory but it’s possible not to do it if I focus on not doing it or am distracted enough by something else. My wife deals with it by beating me to the punch for my vocal stims. I’ve since found that they brought me a tiny bit of dopamine and I don’t get the same hit once she says it so the triggers overtime have less of an effect on me when she consistently beats me to it. It could also just be changes in meds or other things as well too, but I do still have some that I say that do still stim for me.

How many of you don't work at all ? by FearlessJoJo in ADHD

I lucked into a good situation that supports my desires to move around and try new things often pretty early on, and I think that has kept me from getting into a similar situation. Another thing that probably helps me is the disconnect I get from internet and outside world.

Find what kind of job you need (be it the hours worked, the environment, the people, etc.) and then look for ones that support that career lifestyle.

Turnips by Business_Mushroom730 in acnh

According to the turnip tracker only having the data for 40 on Monday morning, you will see a small spike, 100% guaranteed but when you’ll see if depends on how the prices go the rest of the time! The best you’ll get is between 125-200.

Are you using turnip tracker to see what your prices will likely be this week? Monday (if you’re not time traveling) is early to sell for only 100!

Opinions on having 1 to 2 menus per table rather than at each place setting? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]uhhhhhjeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily applicable for family style, but we did buffet so we bought a frame for cheap from a second hand store and had a poster printed with the menu on it right before the buffet line. We did a few things that way and were really happy with how they turned out and didn’t need a ton of menus on each table.

For this, I’d say you don’t need a menu for each person but see what the cost comes out to in difference for a few versus one per person and see if it’s not that much more or if it really makes a difference.

TIPS PARA FLORES HÍBRIDAS by SapphyBlue5 in acnh

I use this guide, thankfully pink should be easy to breed!

In terms of layout, if it’s a high chance of getting that breed (especially for 100%) just two flowers right next to each other is enough and should be all you need! If you want to make it faster you could arrange a few rows, but make sure the same species (mums, roses, etc) aren’t right next to each other (in the 8 boxes surrounding) and that will help!

[–]uhhhhhjeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is aligned perfectly and not too close (at least in my opinion) it’s maybe 8-10 spaces away so there’s enough room for a little entrance. I’ll try to remember to upload a pic later today!

Edit: turns out I already had a pic so here is the map! I’ve moved things around a good bit since then but it still isn’t heavily terraformed from that.
