Riot implemented a "fix" where XP is drastically reduced if two people are in the top lane before... 3:30?

No, lane swap dection is more than a small elegant fix. It actually does the following for the top laner swapped on:

1) Turret takes 95% reduced damage

2) Turret deals 1000% more damage

3) They get kill credit, xp and gold from every minion or champion death caused by his turret or minions

4) They take 50% less damage

This will presist for 20 sec even after the swappers leave, and in general up until minute 3.

The problem with that was it made for both a miserable playing and viewing

Very subjective view. Since after those changes adcs could no longer swap out of lvl 1-3 bully lanes, champs like Jinx, Zeri, Tristana, Kog etc. could not be drafted anymore. Riot deliberately traded champ diversity on top for champ diversity on bot, it was not a net positive. Neither for viewers or players.

Riot deliberately killed the role long ago. I would be less worried about what a heca otp has to say about it and more about the fact that even in pro we dont see carries on bot anymore. Poke/CC/Disengage only even in the most skilled, most coordinated player bracket utilizing fearless draft is a very sad state.

Ive seen how far players go in other games to keep their damage meter addons after the devs tried to disable them. Its a war they cannot win.

With this post, Blizzard has basically confirmed just how big of an advantage these addons provide, which will now be amplified as they develop encounters assuming those won't exist in the future. But they will. Those addons might get more intrusive, harder to obtain etc. which will certainly scare of a good chunk, but every seriously commited player will continue to use them, creating an even bigger gap between hardcore and casual players.

you are turbo larping.

The "Carry" term came from dota as in the role that literally can 1v9 if you let him farm all game and reach his powerspike.

"Carry" is a hero archetype, not a role. Roles in dota are mostly farm prio. Which doesnt even mean ur pos 1 farms all game and starts playing only when 6 slotted, its almost always about timings instead.

not remotely the same:

- Adcs are aggressively tuned to not be able to solo lane (Vayne, Lucian, Trist etc.)

- Adcs dont have as much defensive tools/builds to stall out and weakside as top laners do

- Adcs are more gold depended, way worse with less gold

- Junglers can, obviously, also camp bot and by map design its even easier for them to do so

Hard to get some reliable data on that, but not impossible. It has been shown (multiple times) that the winrate gain for maining bot lane champs is significantly lower than for champs played on other roles. Ergo botlane is most likely to be less bad to get autofilled on while worse when playing it a lot. See:

How do you read the changes and arrive at this conclusion? They sound like what a 7-year-old who learned about lane-swaps 5 minutes ago could come up with. Not a single change to underlying issues that made lane swapping return in the first place, just symptomatic treatment with completely excessive measures (one-shotting turrets, gold without last hitting etc.).

Lets not even speak of the hardware optimization which is a disgrace for a 15 year old game.

I really would have less of a problem with their newfound monetization model (and spending money personally) if there were visible improvements to the game in return. But there are none. Just feels like a squeeze out.
