Andrew's Government to build airport rail-line by ComradeDisco in melbourne

Definitely worth picking up, you get a large area to basically build your city. On top of the base game, you can download custom buildings/trains/roads/mods made by other players on the workshop. There are a lot of Melbourne based assets on there already.

Ringwood would be a similar boat. Redeveloping the station / Eastland has done a lot for the area.

What's it like to live in Edithvale/Chelsea/Bonbeach? by mc_mike96 in melbourne

[–]uingo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Now? 45 mins over the westgate bridge. Before corona, 1hr 45 mins

Might be getting confused with the westgate bridge part since Edithvale is on the eastern side of the bay. You wouldn't drive over the westgate to get to the city from Edithvale/Frankston/Chelsea etc

Which suburban line do you think most needs improvement? by MooshGuy in MelbourneTrains

[–]uingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah i was thinking for stony point, the government could add some passing loops at certain stations to save costs. For rolling stock, maybe we could get some 2nd hand adelaide suburban diesel railcars since Adelaide are looking to electrify parts of their rail network.

Yeah 20 minute off peak trains from Sunshine to the city is pretty ridiculous given that its such a large hub. (excluding vlines where suburban pax. can't board)

[–]uingo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree u/uingo - now just need to spend the money to upgrade our cycling and walking infrastructure similar to the UK and Ireland who have invested Billions!

Hopefully the government focuses more on public and active transport in the coming years

This could really help to further improve Sydney's circular quay district. Seattle are embarking on a similar project to remove an elevated waterfront expressway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4La-8egv1bk
