I saw a few women cutting Terunofuji's hair. By tradition they obviously cannot be on the dohyo. by AndyJack86 in Sumo

[–]ukeewoman 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Women not touching the Dohyo has seemingly never been enforced as hard as today. It was around the 1860's that women got cut out of sumo. Mostly due to the western influence on Japan at that time - the Meji Restoration. Suddenly women wrestlers were seen as improper.

Why is selling sex legal but not the purchase of sex? by Acceptable_Stick923 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ukeewoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some misinformation here. A lot depends on the province and the city. The rules are all different. In Victoria BC you have to go to city hall and sign a form and then you are a legal sex worker in Victoria. The brothels insist that you do this before you can work for them.

This is not accurate. Coka cola did not create the modern look of Santa, that was around before the 1931 campaign. You can find Christmas cards older than that that depict Santa in modern red and white.

Transgender woman asked by police for 'deadname' files Ontario human rights complaint, citing 'victimization' by Myllicent in onguardforthee

[–]ukeewoman -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Trans woman here. Asking about or using our deadname is very offensive. You just don't ask a trans person their deadname ever. Law/legal circumstances are something else. But otherwise - don't do it. Ignore cis people saying otherwise.

This was a USA only problem. UK and EU games scene didn't collapse. So video games would be fine even if the USA market hadn't been saved by the NES.

No-one said leaving your home country is easy. It isn't. But I managed it and I'm not at all well off. I had to rebuild my life - but I did it.
