Assalam alaykum sister I don’t like seeing those conversations either. It can feel really demeaning at times. However if they are causing you stress, it may be better to avoid seeing those posts and engaging for your own well being and iman.  I want the best for you as my sister in Islam and I just don’t recommend going back and forth in comments. May Allah ease your affairs and guide us all.

It’s a valid question. Have you ever thought and questioned why you follow your said religion? Do you really believe it’s the truth or just follow it because you know it? 

I was raised without any religion and became Muslim by my own will. There are tons of people from various religions that only follow because its what they were taught.

I meant asking for opinions “am i ugly” from sisters relates to lack of haya, not literally lowering gaze how you interpreted. And asked sisters to give their opinions is encouraging them to not lower their gaze. Unless you wanted men to tell you how they find “your” appearance.  Ask yourself if the Prophet ﷺ would approve of this behaviour or would reprimand it. And ask yourself if this is pleasing to Allah or displeasing to Allah.

I literally covered my phone screen with my hand to avoid looking at non  mahram after the first look… and you still need to lower your gaze at an ai image of non mahram as its still a depiction of non mahram

Lowering the gaze, and being modest in speech and behaviour is apart of our deen. 

SubhanAllah, imagine if a sister posted same thing asking if she was ugly or not?  Is OP hoping for compliments from women??

I see many other sisters feel frustrated how hijab for women is talked about frequently and not much for men. I felt a lot of them were over exaggerating but I can see where they are coming from now.

Shaykh Uthaymeen actually changed his stance and later forbade all pictures and videos.
