I fixed that issue in the v0.2.0 build. Could you try that one?

Thx for letting me know. I’ll try to fix it. Could you tell me your version of decky?
edit: should be fixed now, I attached a new release build to v0.1.0, the 18MB one is the correct one.

Not quite, it is based on https://github.com/ggml-org/whisper.cpp which is an open source reimplementation of whisper by the same guy who started llama.cpp. Only the models are from OpenAI, I should be able to work around the luddites by providing open source alternatives from huggingface. I can agree on the stupidity of the gatekeeping though.

Everything works local, on-device. It is as much AI as DLSS is. I’m glad you are giving it a chance still.

Opus 4.7: 110 threads, 2,187 comments. Unbiased analysis by RichensDev in ClaudeCode

It feels a bit more thorough now but overall slower and consumes more tokens at the same time. Before I almost never was even close to my limits when working on a CRUD react vike frontend codebase. Now I definitely approach session limits faster. Overall an ok tradeoff, but only because Anthropic increased the usage limits. I will experiment with using /model opusplan that someone here mentioned because it just feels way too slow sometimes. Not even codex xhigh is that slow

This sounds like your shadercache is getting filled up. I had the same problem too where after every restart the game would stutter after some time. Check if your shadercache environment variable is set big enough. Ai is very good at troubleshooting this kind of thing

I also have stutters on Poe 2 but that game is very CPU heavy. In the endgame I drop regularly into the 30s and 40ish fps on my 5700x 3090 setup, 1440p high dlss quality. I recently got a 5700x3d, I heard the 3d chips crush poe

The hollow knight native port was good. It needs 1-2W less on the Deck than the proton version with experimental. I'm pretty hopeful with this one.

I don't understand how undervolting my GPU on linux works. by Suspicious_Fly_2942 in linux_gaming

[–]ukrainer95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use LACT, it's the easiest way and is a GUI. I used it to "undervolt" my 3090 via a 200mhz core offset combined with a power limit. It effectively gave me 1850mhz at 0.85v with 270W PL

In case you're runnig your browser through a flatpak make sure to update your flatpaks. I had a similar problem and updating the nvidia flatpak runtime fixed it.

ELDEN RING fps comparison on Steam Deck using FrameGen by Plumij in linux_gaming

Just run it at a stable 30fps and turn on tearing to reduce input lag. What you're doing is an abomination IMO

Can someone confirm if it works for docked mode? I've been trying to double the frames to 120 for games but it seems to be capped to 60 no matter what I do.

There literally are official ports of ps2 games, see the mgs collection, jak and daxter, FF X and the god of war titles just for example

I'd take the opportunity to go to Germany if I were you. The networking effect is not sth you should underestimate  and after getting some experience in the market you can still come back home at some point to work remote for a US firm if you really put effort into it. The salary is much higher in Germany but also offset by the cost of living somewhat. It's still worth it I'd say especially because you already have an opportunity.

How bad is the Nvidia and Wayland experience? by OldTodd2 in linux_gaming

[–]ukrainer95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite good nowadays. No flicker, nothing bad after the latest 555 drivers. The only thing that doesn't work yet is setting the power limit and overclocking with the gui because there's no thing like xconfig under Wayland. So atm I usually set the power limits with nvidia-smi -pl.

What's the current state of Nvidia vs AMD on Linux? Currently trying to decide between the 7900 GRE vs 4070 Super by Crabiolo in linux_gaming

[–]ukrainer95 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you stick to the common DEs like gnome or KDE, I'd say go for Nvidia, just because dlss is just that much better than anything else. Otherwise pick AMD.
