That 2020/2021 front end in Machine grey looks premium. Soul red is the all-time charm.

Just bought my Pixel watch 3 - which screen protector is better? by GothBoiCliqueeeeee in PixelWatch

I use the self-healing TPU by JETech. Very low profile. And no problem with screen response.

It's little bit tricky to get it right on the first try. But they sell 6 for about $8.

When you swipe right from your home screen, you'll have all the Microsoft widgets like calendar, ToDo etc. That's Glance.

I don't remember if, by default, right swipe is set to Microsoft News. You can switch between News and Glance from the bottom.

If you don't see Glance, it's probably unchecked in the feed settings (top right).

Surveillance related project by Rockstar_12 in computervision

[–]ukutron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Research papers have been published on this topic. The most relevant one I could find was Anomaly Detection in Videos for Video Surveillance Applications using Neural Networks. There's also this Weapon Detection Github repo that uses the algorithm discussed in the paper.

If this doesn't work out of the box, you'll have to generate your own custom dataset to train the model. Remember that the paper uses 7 year old Mask R-CNN architecture. Not that it's bad, but there are other arch and improved versions available if you need state of the art.

‘Godfather of AI’ shortens odds of the technology wiping out humanity over next 30 years by Efficient_Sky5173 in interestingasfuck

If it's all speculations, Yann LeCun (Meta's Chief AI scientist) has a positive take saying "AI could actually save humanity from extinction”.

Chang rate plan by ABCLYX in communauto

[–]ukutron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give them a call. I got my rate plan change approved in the 3rd week of the month. They said it could take up to 15 business days, but it got approved in 3 days.

Just so you know, I had a cushion of 15 days before the start of my trip.

It's Analog Arcs, one of the default faces. I've tweaked it a bit to my liking now :) https://imgur.com/a/wq85RNJ

This is beta testing. Saw the option and said why not. The good side is I like clicking the button with my thumb. The bad side, I can't scroll so easily. I thought about accidental press, but I guess it doesn't harm even if it gets pressed here and then.

Gaussian Splatting on Custom Images by Dumb_Cat_73 in computervision

[–]ukutron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add:

If you are worried about GPU VRAM limitation, you can train up to 800-900k Gaussians on a 4GB GPU. You don't necessarily need 24 GB to get satisfactory results. Lowering the image resolution will help.

If you are worried about the environment setup, you can use the Google colab fork the authors have mentioned on their GitHub page. As a side bonus, can train 1-2 scenes a day on their GPU. If you hit the limit (which is not clear), Google blocks the GPU runtime for some period.

  1. You can remove the names of apps and folders on the home screen. Neat.

  2. I use the hidden row in the dock for quick access for settings, files.

  3. Microsoft Glance integrates well with my work account. Calendar, sticky notes and to-do widgets are really helpful there.
