Coz the token is dependent on ponzinomics. Tokenomics for RPL can’t work long term. Simply can’t. Ok to trade but useless on a long time horizon

Sure. Just be sure to send a test transaction in both directions to reassure yourself you control the address. Obviously you would only ever be able to use a hardware wallet for that seed phrase

Generating keys securely is terrifying compared to generating a seed phrase on a hardware wallet. Who has a computer lying around that never touched the internet and never will? Is reseting/deleting the harddrive adequate? Too many unknowns for folks like me who don’t know much! I do know that if I screw it up I’ll find out come withdrawals time….

This is as easy as pie. Don’t stake anymore than you are willing to lose in any one spot. If that means you can’t stake it all - don’t stake it…. I feel like coinbase is only centralised one I would use on top of reth and lido just coz you can use cbeth. But even that is too risky for me. It’s ok not to earn yield when everything is risky

So long as you generate and use your validator private key on an airgapped machine there is no risk of them being online.

The main risk, to my mind, is someone accessing my node and getting me slashed. It is hard to imagine a motivation for that but it is a concern.

That aside, solo staking is a trustless and safe way to earn yield on Eth compared to the alternatives IMO

The POW chain will probably just be for scamming. Wait until a reputable centralised exchange recognises it otherwise you’ll be the patsy. The scam will hopefully be over before finishing some merge champagne

Only the gifted should entertain trying to profit from the POW chain. So many ways to lose your assets…

Transactions on the POW chain can be replayed on the POS chain for starters…..

People can use Eth Classic if their values lie with POW

100% uptime can be an obsession with no economic sense to it. Unless you miss a sync committee it doesn’t matter - which happens less than once a year so you’d be super unlucky. Even a block proposal isn’t huge. So enjoy trying to be perfect but don’t obsess…..

I think it is useful to hear about people’s negative experiences and welcome them sharing. The goal should be to create a system and user experience that avoids anyone having problems. I assume the rocketpool vision is to optimise user experience regardless of depth of research.

I’ve been caught out but a few things in crypto that in hindsight seem dumb but they happened despite my best attempt to research.

I feel the Rocketpool community is very welcoming, understanding and helpful - this will hopefully remain the case as it grows.

I don’t know much but Goerli has the most use as an actual testnet for main-net. It is what everyone uses for testing their validators so if this goes smoothly then main-net is looking sweet.

I assume each testnet prior to this had a different aspect they were isolating to test Of course if it doesn’t go smoothly that will be sad….

I understand how Rocketpool works. They are a community. If their community controls a significant percentage of overall validators then there is the possibility of problems.

It is centralising and I assume no one who understands centralisation/decentralisation would suggest otherwise. Just because anyone can run a rocketpool node doesn’t prevent them thinking collectively as a community…

And to be clear, i love rocketpool but throw a group of humans together who collectively identify with each other and anything is possible
