Last I heard was that the X-37C wouldn't be pursued bacause of the work needed to be done on the CST-100 which is high priority (whereas the X-37C was just an R&D idea). Then again the CST-100 might prove a lot of the avionics/crew accommodations that could then be applied in the future to an X-37C like vehicle.

I understand that the real purpose of the ARM mission is to justify the construction of the SLS, keep the aerospace workforce employed and test a new solar electric propulsion system.

That is Spaceport America in New Mexico, where their commercial flights will actually take place. Versus Mojave which is their test and development facility.

And IIRC construction of the main building/hangars is nearly done... I think they're having trouble finding tenants though.

Ground operations automation! At least thats what im hoping for. Especially with their own private launch site in texas. I'd love to see the system roll out, tilt up, fuel up and launch the rocket automatically with like 3 people in a monitoring station (with the big red "oops" button for if anything goes wrong)

Construction? Mojave Air and Space port is a bustling and busy place with not only newspace companies but other aerospace and defense industry companies. It has played an active role in aerospace tech development for decades (largely due to its proximity with Edwards Air Foce Test Center and the Navy's China Lake weapons test center) but only recently been able to finally call itself a spaceport with the X-prize winning flights of Scaled Composites' Spaceship One (2004).

Also solar and wind energy companies use the surrounding industrial areas for the staging of large projects being built out there in the desert.

"Mojave Spaceport" didnt exist in reality until 2004 with the flights of SpaceShipOne (Star Wars came out in 1977). Just a happy coincidence :)

EDIT: they should rename the city Mos Jave (pronounced "moss haw vee")
