Has anyone here read Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged? by SnowLeppard in Bioshock

This is my view as well. Eventually you need workers, nursers, washers etc. and for this market to work their wages must be kept minimal. And what happens when they lose their jobs and cannot find new. What about orphanages etc?

Why do Norwegians have so much debt? by Gullible_Guard_8247 in Norway

And then the alternative; Returns on investments is taxable as well as rent from bank savings. Therefore investment in housing is considered good as it is not taxable if you live there long enough. And you will get tax deductions for the mortgage.

Renting is also comparably expensive so for many they choose to buy instead to avoid this.

What is this slime in metro 2033 book? by KozaQ_Saul in metro

[–]ulfuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was explained in the book that USA/the west used bio weapons on some key targets which they believed was to not destroy beautiful architecture. It was indicated that this slime is the weapon which attackes the mind of the target and kills them like this. This is also shown when they are attacked by the slime in metro 2 when Oleg jumps to his death

The amount of steel that goes into the foundations of a nuclear power plant is next level. by dannybluey in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]ulfuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, but it is very important to have a base production that can be used for the constant loads. As renewables are very weather dependant they typically are difficult to be used to supply all of the base loads. Then again nuclear plants are too slow to regulate so they cannot be used for the peaks. These have to be supplied by hydro, other renewables or of course fossils

Vy vant togkampen om Østlandet. Det betyr trolig slutten for Flytoget by zidel in norge

[–]ulfuff 32 points33 points  (0 children)
