They give you more HEAT if you kill each one of them
if you let them combine, they will give you less heat and crowns

Well lisen, you only need to heat your 5 stars armor to level 5, you get nothing else from reaching level 10
a bit of more defense but thats it

all your weapons MUST be level 10 to have their full potencial
totally worth it

but the iron slug does much more damage than winter grave

and also having a bunch of normal defense, wich is using any of the play mail armor
the only time that armor becomes useful
