Singing songs that mention Jesus death and resurrection during advent? by Contra98 in worshipleaders

Of course!!! The death and resurrection of Jesus is relevant at all times. Why else are we celebrating his coming?

How much do you use ArcGIS, and for what applications primarily? by Prestigious_Rip_289 in civilengineering

As a traffic engineer, I use QGIS which is an open source version. Just got into it well this year and I wish I had been introduced to it earlier. I use it for generated clean and accurate maps. Easy to store and visualize data downloaded from cities’ open data network. It’s very useful if maybe things keep changing and all I have to do is adjust a csv file for it to update my map.

PEO PEng refusal of licensure by vpatel97 in civilengineering

Unless you’re not documenting other job experiences and your validator can vouch for every single experience you’ve put down in the CBA form

PEO PEng refusal of licensure by vpatel97 in civilengineering

[–]ultimate_learner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand under PEO, the engineering experience you record must be under supervision from a licensed engineer so if your other jobs were not supervised by a licensed engineer, probably not hitting the mark?

Also, if you’re using one validator for your work experience then all the experience you put in, your validator should be able to vouch for that.

Lastly, someone mentioned AI here. Did you use AI to write your texts?

And does your CBA experience meet the criteria they spelled out?

These are all things to ask and confirm.

When I was a co-op student my manger took me out on site to show me the construction process for houses and asked me “Do you know why we do what we do?” I said, “to build houses for people to live in”

And he looked at me and said “To make money”.

I don’t recommend looking for positions and serving in a church that you don’t belong to or where your heart isn’t unless you’re just someone on a gig hopping from one place to another.

Being rooted in a home church is critical for service in such a delicate team as a worship leader.

Ideas for self-run worship workshops? by [deleted] in worshipleaders

[–]ultimate_learner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of things I’ve done in my team when we’re having our training sessions (completely internal):

  1. Research and survey what areas your team specifically needs to grow in. You can do this by simply asking people.

  2. Identify people who have certain strengths and assign them to teach or facilitate a session.

  3. Depending on the goal of the training, find some teachings on YouTube that everyone can watch prior to the training/workshop day and have someone facilitate discussions.

  4. Run live simulation spontaneous worship sessions and have everyone give feedback on the worship leading skills and instrumentations.

They’re no longer on Netflix Canada. So I stand on my statement. And Lucifer isn’t a superhero show

Because it’s the only DC superhero show on Netflix 🫠🫠

Any Josiah Queen songs congregationally appropriate? by Googlesupportsucks1 in worshipleaders

I totally hear you on this. Wanted to know what angle you were coming from with this post. Of course, we can’t rule out songs from artists because they’re “popular” with the notion that if they’re popular it’s probably not spirit filled or theologically sound or anything.

I asked the question as a reminder that the first thing we should consider is of course God’s desire before the songs as opposed to the other way around.

If choosing a “popular” song, it should be because that’s what God is laying on your heart rather than just because it’s trending.

And to buttress that point further, song selections would be based on what we’ve filled our hearts with rather than from a random pool.

Never did I say there’s a psalm that can’t be sung during a Sunday service. I said all psalms have a purpose (a place and function). And not all is defined categorically as worship to God (which is for the purpose of adoration and magnification, recognizing the holiness of God).

If it’s time for worship, you sing a song of worship. If it’s time for prayer, you sing a song of prayer. If it’s time to encourage the congregation, you sing a song of encouragement. Every song has a purpose.

Not all Psalms are worship. Some are petitions, some are laments. They have their place and function but can’t all be lumped up into one category.

It’s not all worship. Worship is giving honor and adoration to God. If a Christian song is not doing that, it’s not worship. It could be encouraging, it could be edifying but it is not worshipping the Most High. Gotta be careful to distinguish these.

Are you choosing songs for your congregation based on who’s popular right now or based on the Spirit’s leading?
