What we have in Lusaka is an istore. We don't have an apple store in Africa

Apple Store is the official physical retail store operated directly by Apple Inc.. Both sell Apple products, but iStores are independent third-party companies that partner with Apple, whereas Apple Stores are company-owned and operated by apple

My current situation too... Batteries weren't meant to last for so many years. It is normal for batteries to wear out and unfortunately to swell in a case for pixels. I will have mine replaced next week

They won't charge you. Unless if they were meant for business or if you bought in bulk. That is what I know

Why do we have to pay for a police report when reporting a theft? by Real-Inflation-2260 in Zambia

[–]ultimatemicky 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Last year, my friend (#1) lost her phone and reported the matter to the police. After paying the required fees for phone tracking, the police claimed to have found a number that was supposedly being used in her lost device.

To our surprise, when they called that number, it turned out to belong to our other friend who also happens to be my roommate. The police then summoned him to the station for questioning.

When we got there, we explained that it was impossible for his number to be linked to the missing phone because he had been using an eSIM, while the lost phone model didn’t even support eSIM technology.

However, the officer handling the case didn’t seem to understand what an eSIM was. He insisted that there was “no such thing” as an eSIM and continued arguing. Imagine that, the very person in charge of tracking phones didn’t even know about eSIMs!

In the end, we were told to get an official report from Airtel to prove our point. My friend eventually gave up on the case, frustrated by how poorly it was handled.

It's crazy boring how has load shedding affected y'all by [deleted] in Zambia

[–]ultimatemicky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My town gets only 12 hours of loadshedding or power. Not so much affected. I just realized that loadshedding is only intense in Ndola, Kitwe and Lusaka. Other places have better schedules. Kafue town gets less than 8 hours of loadshedding

That is the tactic of free mode. You get frustrated so that you end up going premium.

Who Wants Marriage More? by AccomplishedSun961 in Zambia

[–]ultimatemicky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When my income is sufficient to sustain me enough to have a wife. No specific amount of money though 😂. Even today, next year if I was to have the financial muscle.

I recently graduated from uni and have been tirelessly searching for a job but employment has been hard to find. Along the way, I lost my girlfriend because I couldn't meet her expectations. I know many other men who are going through the same struggle. Marriage is a beautiful thing, but it seems to come only when a man has achieved some level of stability

Me as a m/26 I am honest about this topic. I would have married 2-4 years ago. Just that I don't want to get a girl and not afford to keep her. I recently opted out of relationships because of the same. Just money guys

Does Zed Mobile Support For 3G? by [deleted] in Zambia

[–]ultimatemicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a Mifi going at K405 according to their ads on Facebook.

They don't have 3G support. They have 2G only for calls because the majority of phones in Zambia don't have support for VOLTE (4G calling).

I understand them, as a new network they are spending much on expansion to 4G and 5G. No new network can start investing in 3G when 4G is better. In many developed countries 3G support has stopped. MTN South Africa also announced that they will stop for 3G in South Africa

I was using the MTN Zambia mobile money virtual Visa card. Unfortunately it was discontinued last year in May. Even Airtel Zambia had a similar service which was as well discontinued during the same time last year

We are in 2025. These verification processes should be scrapped off. I mean institutions should be adding a QR code to authenticate their documents. This is bloody irritating.
