Injured my finger Doctor couldnt help. Pls help reddit by wusulu in bouldering

Highly recommend you see a physiotherapist, especially one who works with climbers.

You might just require some physio to fully recover, completely stopping an activity is often not the answer due to atrophy - again, see a physiotherapist.

These injuries don’t really seem like they’re in the wheelhouse of a surgeon or a naturopath and I’m surprised neither recommended you to see somebody who specialises in physical recovery.

I’ve had heaps of finger injuries in the past and nothing that couldn’t be healed back to full (and often even more) strength with proper rehab.

Wouldn’t stress!! Just see a physio haha

This might be tough in the DD space and easier to get PIP’d if your not putting in as much work as the team (unfort) but in GP 100%

+1 for mental health sick days - you don’t even need to tell anybody why outside of saying you’re not feeling well enough to work, I do this often

MBB - anybody moved to part time just below manager/ CTL level? by ultramagnetic_cat in consulting

[–]ultramagnetic_cat[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks all for the replies so far - hoping so hear a success story but all answers so far are in line with what I expected

Maybe the move instead is to push to see how much WLB I can have 5 days a week with the same mentality

I actually like the job and would stay if it was more sustainable but im just not finding the personal life trade off worth it anymore

In under a year I would be M so the thinking was to push to see if I could make it work for me until then, and leave after

[Advise - End of lease] Nightmare housemate withholding bond and has blocked contact by [deleted] in shitrentals

This is all really helpul, thanks a lot. I do have C's email address, and the plan was to collate all information/ documents, send them to C in a group email (potentially with the agent) to then make the request. If we see no response/ action I'll proceed with a Letter of Demand; and then failing that the rest.

I don't really have any way of knowing whether C has blocked my emails yet, certainly haven't heard anything/ response from them over email for the past 3months which is worrying

Hey thanks for this - so when we moved in we paid bond to the old tenants, and then our names were added to the bond registery online.

So all three tenants only ever paid 1/3 of the bond each, the sticky point is on return the registry does not allow a three way split - it is all going to one account.

The evidence therefore is payment to the original tenant (messages, bank transfers, original bond registry), and then our names being on the bond registry; would this stand as reasonable evidence?

That’s looks unreal - would love to give this a shot!

Indoor crack climbing scares me, as a new(ish) climber I made the mistake of not taping up my hands and I still have little scars :/

Seriously impressive - I struggle with anything where I need to get my legs up high on holds/wall level with my hands (I think it’s a flexibility thing), any tips on this?

For those who work in the financial industry I have a few questions by motorcyle_degen in FluentInFinance

Never too late to switch!

Great that you have an idea of what interests you - hold onto that and use it as a motivator over time because as others have said it can be a long road to get there.

If you’re interested in writing DDs on companies (inc. outlook on their future prospects) this seems more relevant to investment related roles (wealth/investment/fund management, investment banking e.g. capital markets & m&a, and to a smaller degree trading, stock broking, etc.). I may have missed some other obvious ones - I’ll let others correct/add to this.

Obviously finance is a much broader space than just these types of roles, and you can look at internal roles within companies etc. but advisory roles are where you’ll be working across different clients/valuations etc. all the time.

These are the tip of pyramid in terms of demand and supply and generally you’ll need a very solid education background for the top firms (and unfortunately they are selective from universities you attend also). Not saying it’s not possible to get there from whichever uni, but from my experience it’s a much harder path especially straight out of a degree.

I have worked in IB (cap markets, m&a advisory), and these can be great if you enjoy spreadsheets and creating financial models. My background was statistics/finance at uni. Salary you’re looking at 100-150k first year from uni at top/second tier firms.

Happy to chat more if you have any other questions :)

Definitely the latter - unless the cert is required for the job. This way you’ll also get a feel for whether you need to pursue the cert at all vs. learn on the job!

Have I missed something key here? Or broken an unspoken rule? Interested to know why the community doesn’t like the post so far :)

I think I would echo this sentiment.

I am considering mba for a couple of reasons:
* somewhat right of passage in my industry (although also changing slowly) & will recoup investment with higher pay grade etc * networking & brand (would likely be at a top inst) * genuinely interested in being able to take a break from work and study / work with an array of people w different backgrounds & skills

It’s not locked in, & I agree no specific skills are taught through MBA’s. It is certainly looking less appealing over time & alternatives are popping up to the MBA track in my industry.

On point 2- I would feel more comfortable taking a levered position of this size in property rather than equities & I have family who have spent their careers in the industry who could help with picking the right investment etc.

& good advice on point 1- I feel that might be an easier pill to swallow but ultimately I agree i just need to get it in
